Dragonball
My HKS filter is flopping round - as am missing the L-shaped bracket that affixes it to the body of the car (from underneath the filter as you are looking at it) Has anyone got one knocking about - or could I ask someone to measure the one they have in their machine so that I can make one up? Just in case I dont make it on Sunday! Cheers Paul:cool:
Terminator
The bracket is nothing special, a strip of steel 18 mm wide 1250 mm in length with a right-angled bend 25 mm from one end, the 100 mm vertical section has a slight twist and a curved section to give additional rigidity. The steel is the same gauge as the mushroom locating point for the bracket.
Dragonball
Thanks Phil - just what I was after 'Cus I'm a lazy sod - and haven't got a micrometer - any idea what I should drill out the hole sizes to? It's just that I know you have this piece of info logged away somewhere up inside that hard drive HAL Cheers Paul:cool:
Terminator
Without pulling the car apart, I would guess you need to drill for 10mm bolts. Daisy ...... Daisy........ Give .....me......

Give .....me...... Err, I THINK you mean 6mm? Bolts are measured by their thread OD, but it is so common for people to quotre their spanner size, across the hexagon. If you go to an engineers merchants and ask for a 10mm bolt it will usually have a 17 mm spanner size hex head... I think you mean 6mm bolts ? Terminator
OOOOOppps Chris is right of course, I was quoting spanner size not thread size. 10mm thread would be a bit OTT.
