Is RealPlayer still the crap-filled bloatware is used to be?

I want to download or stream a radio show from the BBC web site but you need poxy RealPlayer to listen to it.

When I used to keep up with these I knew never to use garbage like RealPlayer and I'm very reluctant to infest my PC with it again.

Is it still as bad as it used to be? Any decent alternatives about that I can use instead?

And by the way BBC, get your sodding act together! Fancy making your customers have to install a third party app rather than using a format that 99% of the PCs in the world can play natively. Stnuc.

Yeah, that is an odd one I must say. Realplayer causes all kinds of problems on my Mac here.

I thought you could use Windows Media Player on there aswell?
You can for some things, you're right there mate - sadly not for the thing I want though.

Ah well, I'll go without rather than installing RP - no biggie.

To answer to the first question, yes it is :)

As for the BBC not having the infrastructure to support windows media, its complete rubbish. The BBC picked up Intel Media Services infrastructure when it was closed down, this was cutting edge media streaming for windows and real, mainly windows.
