spiderpigcity
no 2nd decat, just a 4 inch pipe all the way throught to back joint then through to back box. there is a big bolt screwed into the pipe just uunder the drivers seat, maybe for a sensor to be fitted maybe? regards matt
spiderpigcity
the first one in the photo (block this off) leads to the other end where you have marked the red cross, that then branches off the the other pipe. so in other words they are joined together and are not connected at either end as in photo. therefore showing 1 pipe (block this off) at one end , and two pipes at the other end as in the photo. too sum it up the pipes are only 12 inches long and are disconnected at both ends so they dont lead anywhere, thats why they arnt blocked off. basically just two pipes sat there doing nothing. i presume this is because the hks bov has been fitted. as for the black blocked pipe that has the yellow tie wrap around it, i dont know what that does, it leads to a big body of some sort. spiderpigcity
there is another soloniod valve disconnected near steering pump near 2nd turbo. is that cos its got hks bov?
Nic
def only got the short one. no 2nd cat, is that bad? The 1st cat is the most restrictive of the 2, if you are going to up the boost to 1.2bar then I would definitely remove this otherwise your exhaust temps could get dangerously high. Nic
Matt it is very confusing posting about the same subject in multiple threads. The car will be a lot more responsive and spool up quicker with the first cat removed.
JohnnyW
Matt it is very confusing posting about the same subject in multiple threads. Agreed, there was about 3 or 4 threads on it when I posted those pics! Looks like one of the mods have merged them together. Try and keep the threads down mate or it gets really messy. Wez
I think you should read this FAQ on the sequential operation as you could be running in TTC. http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=35926 This would explain the lack of sub 4000rpm pull which is normally where the 2JZ-GTE shines. Steviekid
You can see what's going on with your sequential pipework better with those closeup pics. Your exhaust gas bypass valve has been completely removed from the equation. The pressure feed from the pressure tank has been blocked off so you won't be losing anything from the pressure tank. Because all the pipes have been disconnected, then the fact the pressure dump from the original wastegate VSV isn't blocked off doesn't really matter. In summary, if you're running in TTC which it sounds like, then stopping the EGBV working doesn't make any difference and you're ok as you are. If you're running in sequential then I'd hook it back up again and block off the other pipe.
