bigcol
ok lets try and fill you in on the do's and dont's. 1) Make sure that when you fill your visa's in that no spelling mistakes, crossed out words are present, if there are any of the above the immigration at the airport can be quite funny and you can get a delay of up to 4 hrs 2) The currency is the CUC cuban convertable peso, it is strictly a tourist currency and it is illeagle to take it out of the country 3) Change currency at the hotel if possible, the airports are quite usually unwilling to do anything and they will try and con you out of a few quid. 4) ANYTHING you buy make sure you get a receipt as on the way back customs can and will confiscate anything that doesnt have one. 5) Hide your mobile phone if it has GPS on it (N95 etc) as it is highly illeagle and will be confiscated as will any type of GPS sat nav system, DVD players are not especially liked either (no idea why) 6) Dont buy cigars from anyone but a reputable shop and get a receipt, no reciept means you got them from a street trader and to be honest they are really the crappest of the crap cigars, they taste like old tea bags. & 7) most important HAGGLE LIKE MAD FOR EVERYTHING:d im going back to Cuba in May (Guardlavacia) for a week and i cant wait its a stunning place, the people are friendly as anything and best of all there are no loudmouthed budwieser guzzling obnoxious ahole yanks there AT ALL they are banned from entering the country:d:d:d just a couple more if you have an mbna, capital one, ge money, or amex dont use it you will get screwed, and tmobile phones dont work as they block the signal. have a nice time, hope this helped a bit
