Stevie72 Posted February 11, 2008 Share Posted February 11, 2008 I suppose if your going to drive the poorer mans Supra then you NA chaps have to stick together What gets me too many (youngsters/Chav Wannabes?) who buy an NA or can't afford insurance on TT bring the Supra down, with stupid comments like ' mine does 160 mph and 100 in 12 seconds and I've got it on camera doing 60mph in 6 seconds. SilkYsMOTH, I apologise if I came across a bit strong and do not mean to offend, but unless someone can prove something it means nothing and I would expect to get near 60 in 6 seconds you would need closer to 300 bhp than 200 bhp. But the engine is so smooth and runs like new, very responsive. Last week I beat a WRX turbo all the way to 120 leptons off the line with him chasing on my rear arch until I backed off. It seems to draw a lot of attention at night. Don't get me wrong, I don't go out racing every night, or thrash my car about, generally I drive very safely and just cruise along. I had a 360bhp rx and had tremendous trouble keeping up with a WRX (granted his wasn't standard either), but I wouldn't dream of going against one in a NA. Though that said, I was easily keeping up with a 350z on Sunday. Anyway, I am surprised people (or more specifically a couple of people on here) call NA's poor mans supras - lol. They aren't THAT much cheaper than a turbo unless you have an aerotop TT. Personally, by that logic - anyone without a single turbo manual or aerotop TT is driving a poor mans supra (which generally IS the case). I felt I had to do this 0-60 test because I would have been really disappointed if it did it in 7 seconds. you have pretty much the same mods as me i had mine on the dyno with both cats in and it made 222.1bhp since then i have had both cats taken out, 2 x new o2 sensors and a new fluids change (oil,coolant,g/box and diff) and even when it was at crail which i admit aint the best surface, with no rear seats, no rear spoiler, my mates MR2 drag radials on and as little fuel in as possiable i still only made a 14.78 quarter and even that time seemed to be a bit optimistic i just cannot understand where you are getting the power from can you do me a favour and pull back your pass carpet at the dash and tell me if it has a stock ecu? or if it has some sort of piggy back on it as things are on your car i cant see those times coming IMO Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Oh well, another idiot to go on the ignore list. thats not exactly accurate, I may had mentioned that in earlier conversation on this thread not actual results, as I stated ealier I recorded 9 sec at 75 (after freeze framing and going through frame by frame it was actually 76). STI's are a little different and I had trouble with a M3 Evo the other day, but it couldn't have been stock as a Stock Evo M3 AND uk tt Auto are pretty much even. I also had 2 more passengers and 200kg makes a difference! Anyway , back to the post, when i said 'poor mans' I meant it AT THE TIME not in monetary terms and in BHP terms. A supra is a Supra, but given the odd £3k in price i was always going to go for the REAL supra that is a TT It's a bit like a Ford Escort being done up like a Cosworth, minus the engine.
