Steve M
The supra should win, the escort should sit there spinning the front wheels for days if its got that power!
michael
An '82 Escort will be RWD won't it?

Which would win the down the Pod, My mate has the escort and claims he will sacrifice me with his Stage 3 turbo / water cooled something or another and log book registering the car in 1982 What do you think people???? What he didn't tell you was that he has a built in smoke machine that launches plumes of oily smoke from the exhaust pipe, and in the off-chance that he may get in front of you, he simply has to wind his boost up to shower you in an array of broken engine parts to slow you down... But seriously, you've got a proper car, and besides, do you think his would make it to the end of a 1/4 mile track without breaking something? So it might not be a fair race really:p

SexySallySupra
HAHA!!! He does seem to spend most of his time and money which he makes fitting tyres fixing his pride and joy, I will humiliate him with confidence But it continuously annoys me why these brain dead people with these types of cars think their so darn good?? Whitelightning
Well it amazes me that we think Supras are unbeatable. In the modifying world, any car can be deceptive (Reyland Escort as an example). Sure - we can estimate but if you can modify a car it brings in an "unknown" parameter to racing. I would never say for certain a Supra was going to beat a chav mobile (some chavs are damned rich !!) Especially as many people don't declaire all their mods. The test is to taste the pudding - let us know how it goes
GeordieSteve
any car can be deceptive (Reyland Escort as an example) Wasn't that a Cosworth? Hardly a slow car to start off with
Whitelightning
I think it was, but it made 190+mph, and it was an escort On the run I saw he blew everything away and there were some nice cars about (Supras, skylines etc). Im just saying that if the bonnet is closed - you cant assume

The test is to taste the pudding - let us know how it goes Whilst I agree in principle, I seriously doubt there are many 1982 1.6 CVH powered Escorts that could take on a Supra in seriousness. IF it was that modified, they guy would have had to have spent an absolute fortune on it, and I'll wish him the best of luck..... With his next repair An Escort Cosworth is a different kettle of fish. That's a fast car to start with. An XR3i, (at best for that year), with an RS turbo engine transplant isn't really what I'd class as quick to start with. If the original question was with regard to an Escort Cosworth, I wouldn't have been so quick to dismiss it
Whitelightning
True - if the 1.6 does beat a supra - it will no doubt blow up soon after lol
