mikeyb10supra
Is this mandatory?? im being promted to upgrade and its saying my virus protection has run out?? surely this cant be right can it? ive paid for the software norton 2007 disc and dont understand why I would need to renew it? Its basically saying 1 item effecting my status...and asks to check for virus protection updates. When I run this nothing changes and the state stays as urgent attention and then it prompts me to upgrade at a cost of £30? Any ideas as im stumped ps screen shot attached
Angarak
Your NVP is still working despite the warnings but it wont be able to detect any new viruses released after your subscription ran out. Subscription is not mandatory, but recommended if you want to have the latest protection against the newest viruses, etc. Personally, I think Nortons is crap, I prefer F-Secure. The Restorer
License is only valid for a year... Don't renew though because you can buy it cheaper new now or even beter replace it with something else now. I use Noton 360 because I had to have Symantec to connect to the work network and it has a 3 computer license, but to be honest I'm not too keen on it. DamanC
Urghgh Norton! Do yourself a favour, uninstall it and put another AV solution on. McAfee is a good one, I use it and funilly enough I sell it for only £10 with a years worth of updates

ivan
You used to be able to download the virus definitions and update any version of NAV manually. Knowing Symantec they've probably closed this loophole though.
