Help with HKS SSQV

Okay, this might classify as a bit of a chav's/ricers post... but I'm really not happy with the sound of the BOV I just had fitted.

This morning I went from having an 'old style' Blitz BOV (mounted on intake hard pipe) to an HKS SSQV mounted in stock BOV location. This was a necessity due to having a Greddy 3-row FMIC fitted and having to lose the hard pipe to the intake...

The problem is that the HKS sounds sh*t, it only gives a girly fartly whistling sound whereas the Blitz gave a nice "whoosh". Is there any way I can adjust the HKS SSQV to give a more aggressive sound?

The HKS just sounds so sh*tty it annoys me after only 30 miles of driving the car with it!!

I've got no boost controller so boost is controlled mostly by air temperature.

The different between in sounds between the two BOV's is massive, I'm sure its either because the BOV is faulty or because the HKS ones just sound shit. Hope I didn't just chuck £200+ down the drain on this thing

I have a borrowed sard bov just now (thanks trd) and it gives a great wooshy noise but i was gonna replace it with the HKS despite it being more of a sharp whistle noise. It does sound good on some cars ive heard (adrocktt's on SF) but im not so sure now.....

You can play about with the pressure tension bolt on the BOV . Wind it outand it will dump at a lower pressure wind it in for the opposite. TBH all the Hks ones sound fine to me so i would check for leaks and correct fitment then paly with the bolt. Or if anyone is near you with the same BOV have a listen to theirs if they are kind enough and go form there. It could well be faulty but best to check.

Now that I think of it James Arup had the same BOV and it gave the same sound this one makes now. His was mounted on a flange welded to the FMIC pipe to the intake (same position as my old blitz one).

James sent me some sound clips of his car, now when I play them back it sounds the same as mine does now. Think it might just be me but I hate the sound it makes

Have now adjusted the valve and it sounds MUCH better!! It even gives the 'fluttery' BOV sound that I've seen people mention on here :)

Think I'll be keeping it now!

The Blitz BOV and hardpipe might be up for sale once I pick it up from the garage next week soon, Toms Supra, I'll give you first refusal.
