Matt H
Off to see "No country for old men" tonight at the flicks. Wouldn't have given it a second thought, but was told it was supposed to be good, then i looked at this: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0477348/ If anyone is a regular at the IMDB, then they will no that they have one of if not the best scoring systems I have ever seen. Now this film got a stonking 8.7 out of 10. No high you think? Well considering that the highest ever score on the site is for the Godfather @ 9.1, 8.7 is phenomenal! If a film gets around 8 its going to be amazing (generally!) It sticks it right into the top 20 films ever made: http://www.imdb.com/chart/top Wow, i can really see this being a film that will grip you and entertain you in the same way and the same depth as the Shawshank Redemption... Jake
It's a good film but it leaves it up to you to work a few things out for yourself. Folks that like to be spoon-fed their plots may not enjoy it. It's not a "Wow - THAT WAS IMPRESSIVE!" kinda movie in the way that, say, Fight Club or Goodfellas or The Godfather I/II or Pulp Fiction were but it's very well done. I thought the baddie in it was a little overdone/over-acted/clichéd maybe, but otherwise really enjoyed it. Edit, It was only really his voice that bothered me - nobody but film badguys ever talk like that - do they?
CJ
Edit, It was only really his voice that bothered me - nobody but film badguys ever talk like that - do they? I agree - it got on my nerves too.

Matt H
Can't offer any review, because when I got to the cinema last night, the queue ended outside of the foyer! Orange Wednesday’s grrr Settled for buying Blue Harvest from tesco (the family guy star wars spoof!) so so funny! But only 45 mins long. Disappointing, as I wanted to see that too. Cloverfield next I think.
