ADD
Got a few questions if someone could answer them for me: 1) What would happen if the EGBV or IACV actuator sticks when changing gear? 2) If i had a leaking wastegate, what effect would it have on boost, afr's and performance at full chat? cheers for any help ad
Ian C
1) What would happen if the EGBV or IACV actuator sticks when changing gear? Sticking open or closed, and is this changing gear while tootling through town or a full on blast through the gears? It makes quite a difference which 2) If i had a leaking wastegate, what effect would it have on boost, afr's and performance at full chat? Do you mean the vacuum reference leaking (it'd act like a bleed valve and boost would go up) or an exhaust gas leak before or after the wastegate? -Ian
ADD
1) Regarding Actuators, its sticking iopen on full chat 2) Vacuum reference side. and what if the spring was becoming weak?
Ian C
1) Regarding Actuators, its sticking iopen on full chat You should still come back on at full boost, if these stay open they would only cause trouble at 2) Vacuum reference side. and what if the spring was becoming weak? If the vac ref leaked as I said it'd be like a bleed valve, so boost would go up. If the spring got weak, the wastegate would open easier to theoretically boost would go down - although of course we know the integral wastegate in the stockers can't control boost much at all once you decat, so under those circumstances you'd get a slower buildup of boost as the wastegate opens early. Both a vac reference leak and a weak spring at once might just cancel each other out -Ian
