The Raven
Its a self cond combi freestanding oil bolier It was so heavy it cracked 3 floor tiles which where a pig to get up and relay. The house stands at one bedroom but with permission for another 2 and a bathroom on the rear. That will start when the weather is better. The Raven
BUMP! Well with time is coming to start on the new bit to the rear. I am having the 60 odd trees removed in 4 weeks ish. Then i suppose the footings will go in. Dont know if to go for the easy timber frame route or block work it.
The Raven
Just seen i never did the pictures of it finished. I will add these tomorrow
The Raven
Been slacking. Ok well the ground is now hard enough to get the trees out without turning the field and garden into a mud pit. Planning lapses in a few weeks so i have taken today off and made a start on the footings by hand in order to inforce the planning. The greenhouse is now out of the way. I promise i will post pics when the wife comes home with the cam!

The Raven
Really is two years since i started this project! Well the main house is more or less done apart from the en suite needing a over haul. It was a rush job before my son was born last year. I have had about a year off from all things building as the doing most of this myself nearly killed me. I feel now im ready to push ahead and continue the plans. Phase 2 is a two bedroom and bathroom extention to the rear. With the end room being used as and office. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=290432931907 This was the offending greenhouse that stood where i wanted to build it is now gone. The Raven
Pics, need more pics I will be on it. The house will stand when finished at. 8 bedrooms. 3 kitchens, 6 bathrooms 3 living rooms. I need power gates, anyone thats been over here feels the pain of opening them and shuting them. Also i need to get the front shorted as it has a huge pot hole that colin refuses to drive his supra over. Im thinking concrete would be better than tarmac due to the weight of the horse lorry coming and going.

The Raven
You're gonna need a bigger digger O yes i wondered where i was going wrong I should add i nearly took the oil feed to the house out with the shovel today:( Once the trees are gone i will be able to run a digger in from the side field. The Raven
Righty i have three people over tomorrow to price up the trees. Best quote so far £2300 of which they quoted £1300 last year. Once they are down i will chop them up and install a nice log burner that should cut down on my oil bills for the next 8 years
Rob
You're gonna need a bigger digger I was going to say his house was massive, in comparison to that digger about 300 yds in front.
The Raven
Two more quotes. One of £2000 one of £2800 one more to go then next week they come down!
Rob
What did you mean by "planning lapses in a few weeks"? You need to be really careful with the local planners, they like nothing more than to let people build stuff then come along and wee all over it from a great height.
