SupraHuman
The night rod is a very good bike. They have the new brembo calipers so you can actually stop too, which is nice. They are fast(for a HD).When I worked for harley davidson one of my mates took the older V-rod on the track and did a 12sec quarter mile. Not bad for a HD at all.And the price is good,go for it bud. You know you want to Forgot to mention that they do a stroker kit for them as well, around 1500cc and 180-90hp(118hp stock). That should smoke the ricers off the line me thinx. Blackie
Can't help thinking a nice zx10 or fireblade for that money. Horses for courses i guess.
cheekymonkey
Can't help thinking a nice zx10 or fireblade for that money. Horses for courses i guess. We've had a fireblade but fancy something a bit different - and at that price, if I don't like it I can sell it in the spring/summer and make the 2k or whatever back on it
cheekymonkey
Bought it! It looks the part but I cannot find performance figures anywhere. Anyone know what the 0-60 is on it?

Supra-Brett
Nice bike. What happened to the Chrome though. I though all these bikes were full of chrome. Looks identical to one a gut at work has, but his has tons of chrome on it.

Jake
Aren't you a bit young to have a Harley? Don't you have to be middle-aged estate agent or dentist or somesuch to own one? Sorry, but I hate Harleys. Why do they make them so loud? It can't be a performance thing, can it? Is it just a Look At Me Everyone!!! thang? My 'Blade sounds like a sewing machine compared to most Harleys
JamieP
As promised! That looks great:cool:
cheekymonkey
Aren't you a bit young to have a Harley? Don't you have to be middle-aged estate agent or dentist or somesuch to own one? I'm aiming for an early mid-life crisis! Quite probably. Much like loud Supras, in fact My 'Blade sounds like a sewing machine compared to most Harleys I haven't yet ruled out a sports bike, I need to try one. I originally got the harley to make a few quid by selling it in a couple of months... we'll see
AndyT
Watch out for the sidestand bud. Harley jobs have two positions. The first one feels as if it's out correctly but it's not and you risk the bike falling over.
cheekymonkey
Ok cheers Andy I will watch out for that
Thorin
Nice looking bike that. I'd have to have something like that or a Ducati Monster... if I could actually ride that is. Not fussed about the sports bikes.

tbourner
I raced a Harley today, and after some really hard riding I managed to PASS the guy. I was riding on one of those really, really twisting sections of canyon road with no straight sections to speak of and where most of the curves have warning signs that say “15mph”. I knew if I was going to pass one of those monsters with those big-cubic-inch motors, it would have to be a place like this where handling and rider skill are more important than horsepower alone. I saw the guy up ahead as I exited one of the turns and knew I could catch him, but it wouldn't be easy. I concentrated on my braking and cornering. Three corners later, I was on his fender. Catching him was one thing; passing him would prove to be another. Two corners later, I pulled up next to him as we sailed down the mountain. I think he was shocked to see me next to him, as I nearly got by him before he could recover. Next corner, same thing. I'd manage to pull up next to him as we started to enter the corners but when we came out he'd get on the throttle and outpower me. His horsepower was almost too much to overcome, but this only made me more determined than ever. My only hope was to outbrake him. I held off until the last instant. I kept my nerve while he lost his. In an instant I was by him. Corner after corner, I could hear the roar of his engine as he struggled to keep up. Three more miles to go before the road straightens out and he would pass me for good. But now I was in the lead and he would no longer hold me back. I stretched out my lead and by the bottom of the canyon, he was more than a full corner behind. I could no longer see him in my rear-view mirror. Once the road did straighten out, it seemed like it took miles before he passed me, but it was probably just a few hundred yards. I was no match for that kind of horsepower, but it was done. In the tightest section of road, where bravery and skill count for more than horsepower and deep pockets, I had passed him. though it was not easy, I had won the race to the bottom of the canyon and I had preserved the proud tradition of another of America's best bikes. I’ll always remember that moment. Never pedalled so hard in my life. And some of the credit must go to Raleigh, too — they really make a great bicycle. I don't usually like Harleys, but that one is really nice! Wouldn't mind a Buell though. http://www.motorcycledaily.com/04buell_xb12r.jpg
