OnionMan
Hi all, may be a silly question, At one point in time I'd like to have a built engine in my Supra, and seeing as there are many NA engines going around for next to nothing was wondering if an NA block could be used as a donor, or are they completely different? I know the heads are, as are pistons/rods etc, but as they will be replaced anyway was wondering if it’s worth my while snapping up one of the NA blocks flying around. Sorry if it’s been brought up before, did use the search function but to no avail
SimonB
TTs have oil squirters that help cool the pistons by squirting oil up under the crown.
Chris Wilson
TT blocks are quite a lot heavier, suggesting they have more meat in some areas, probably the bore walls and top deck. N/A blocks have no oil squirters either, and lack some of the drillings for oil feeds and returns for the stock TT system.
