Alex
When I had my windscreen changed, the guy doing the fitting told me the arms (not the wipers, the actual arms that are bolted to the car) were the wrong way round (drivers side on on the passengers side and visa versa)...its marked, apparrently, under the cap at the bottom of the arm. I haven't had a real oppertunity to test it yet but I actually think my problem with clearing the screen at high speed has improved if not been totally irradicated! I was a tad surprised but for those of you with wiper problems above 70mph then it maybe worth checking as some incompetent fool may have put them on the wrong way round whilst changing your screen in the past! Or my new screen is so clean and smooth that it just seems better. TTFN
JamesG
As it happens, my wipers are pretty bad at high speeds. One strange thing I've noticed is that the drivers side wiper arm cannot be pivotted up very far (when washing the car), as it hits the edge of the bonnet. In fact, I took a chunk of paint off the bonnet by doing just that. Is anyone elses mkiv supra like that, or do I have the wrong wiper arms? James. Mark Ayling
Ahhh, I'm hoping that I have the same problem then, as my driver's side wiper "lifts off" at anything over 80, but the passenger side wiper still clears the screen perfectly!! Cheers Alex...
Jspec Germany
Mine too. Does your rear washer fluid still work? I think mine is disconnected or clogged or something. I need to replace them all as they barely spit washer fluid onto the windscreen in what seems to be low pressure. Sucks.
Shovels
Yep, mine too... Gonna have a look tomorrow.

But my wiper pivots up just fine, so I guess Tim must have adjusted it at some time.
supRo
crap quality wipers lift off at high speed. Try the Bosch wipers with spoiler/aerofoil thing - It holds the wiper down...150 leptons+

Maxx
JSpec Germany - I had a problem with my washers too, thought the rear may not be connected. It turned out to be a build up of limescale in the jets, I used a needle and so limescale remover (I used FE750 from work), it might take a few atempts but mine work perfectly now. JamesG
That's quite amusing. I discovered a couple of years after Alex's initial post that my windscreen wiper arms were indeed the wrong way around. Got them swapped back correctly when I had a replacement windscreen
