Ady
do an AutoCAD course. Its money for nothing!! Wouldnt say its money for nothing........ but its a good trade to get into. Ive been working on CAD for 7 years now since leaving school. Work in it 9-5 every day of the week. Have got a good job as an architectural technician. I look after my companies buildings, data, site plans, campus plans - also do project drawing, space management and space charging. I work for a university wich currently owen over 300 buildings In my spare time I do planning and building control applications for private clients. I wont bother doing them for less than £300 a shot. These are all done on CAD. Here is some samples of my private work - Im not posting up any of my work related projects as I dont want to get into trouble. Basic building control floor plans: Planning application Existing Elevations: Building Control Window and Door Schedule: 3D Visulization: Its not that hard once you get the jist of it. I love my job and the work I can produce. Ive also got my fat fingers in many pies here and do ''private'' work for various clients. Bare in mind ive just graduated from my BSc Hons Degree in Architectural Design - BUT enroll your self onto the City and Guilds computer aided design (CAD) course for starters. If you enjoy it then find a local place that dose the 3D modeling course and take it from there. Just basic knowledge and good knowledge of current regs can earn you a nice ''extra'' wage. :eyebrows:
