JustGav
Given the recent flux of silly threads... This struck me as being very disturbing and also somewhat fascinating... http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/health/7193820.stm Regulators in the UK have given scientists the green light to create human-animal embryos for research. hogmaw
I studied this stuff at university. Like most unusual or weird things, if you educate yourself and understand what's going on, it's nothing to be afraid of. Bring it on.

Don't me get wrong, stem cell research is something I do agree with, however I do worry about borrow genetics from other species.

I do agree, but some species of animals are able to re-grow limbs/tails. Just imagine the military style applications of this... Human kameleons (spelling), the list goes on
Snooze
More to the point: Go-ahead Dr Stephen Minger and colleagues at King's College London want to create hybrids to study diseases known to have genetic causes - such as Alzheimer's disease, spinal muscular atrophy and Parkinson's disease. "Minger"? Surely nobody's called Minger?!?!?! :D

That'd sort out all those lazy day sickies people keep pulling It'd be one way for the govt to stop worrying about MRSA!!

tbourner
What happens when some super villain steals all the embryos to create a mutant army? We'd have to get Superman and Jason Bourne out of retirement to kick thier butts!
