Loving the Range Rover

Had the Range Rover a couple of days now, absolutely love it.

The air suspension is great, drop it right down to get in & out, then raise it right up again when you drive off.

The sense of safety you get when driving it is great, I've only ever had low sports cars, this was such a culture shock, it's like driving a truck.

Think I'll have a look for some fields & hills this weekend for a laugh, have a go with the low gearbox.

Came across this site that offer a kit to turn a 2000 P38 into the new style, what do you think? :D

Nice.

Not very economical are they :D

A guy I know recently put petrol in his 07 plate diesel RR - £6k worth of damage :D

Have you got this in addition to the Supra and the Porker? How many cars do you want mate? :D

Erm, no it's not very economical :D, I've only had it a few days, but it does "guzzle" a bit :D, I'll work some figures out over the next couple of tanks of petrol.

Yeah, got the Supe & the 911 too, I got this to ease the miles on the 911 (my lass was taking it to work everyday), and to keep it off the road in the bad weather, I wanted something that would get her to work come rain, hail or snow (whiplash noise :D).

How bad is the fuel consumption - I am thinking about getting one of these!

Gonna work some stuff out over the next couple of tanks bud, it's got an LPG conversion so will do that 1st as that's what I'm using mainly at the mo.

I did fill it with petrol when I got it though, over £90 @ £1.05 a litre!!!! :(

I like the Range but you've done well to get the petrol model as the diesel is sluggish and struggles up hills.

I have just driven the new Diesel Vogue HSE and I wasn't impressed with the driving experience. If you want a proper Range then the only way to go is petrol IMHO. I did like the remote camera system that comes on the top-line model though

The second hand market value is falling very quickly so there are a fair few bargains to be had on these beasts from the research I have done.

Good purchase mate:)

Yeah that camera system is mint, I had a go in a new Vogue Supercharger, stunning vehicle.

You do get a LOT of car for the money, IMHO the biggest flaw in these is going to be petrol costs. I reset the computer when I left for work this morning, it showed an average mpg of 23 when I arrived at work (running on LPG), I still think that's a tad optimistic :D

Very nice mate, but I'd get that kit on it and look lush asap

Cheers H , my lass is actually up for the idea too, she normally hates me modifying cars :D

Who makes them kits mate, that looks great doesn't it :)

I found them on http://www.rangeover.co.uk Gaz, just contacted them, the kit (minus lights & wheels) is £1500. The lights are quite expensive as they are OEM RR units (over £1k for the front), but you could prolly pick them up from ebay in good condition if you wait a couple of months (there's always a single OSR or NSF one going cheap). Then for fitting, all panels bolt on in place of origionals, small amount of cutting non visible non structural beams to fit the deeper lights).
