Metallikev
5 Million that could be put towards more staff, new equipment etc, it just dont seem right really, she should donate it back, they need it more than she does i reckon
Class One
She should have sued the surgeon who did her lips and made her into a cod face.

Alex
Originally it was 500,000 now 5mil...could this be media based inflation? Anyway, no you shouldn't be able to sue the NHS, or other public body....the person in charge should be held responsible.
Havard
She should have sued the surgeon who did her lips and made her into a cod face. Although she had made a bit of money back today after being employed as an emergency chute at Heathrow.....
Snooze
She's done well out of the whole thing anyhow - I noticed the antibacterial hand soap that they have in the toilets here at work is "developed by Leslie Ash". Bet that endorsement netted her a decent cheque too.

Like the man who resigned after killing all those elderly people in his care but I can't remember the name or any other details - only that he should have been held accountable. I do think she should be able to claim from somewhere though. She was an actress and has lost considerable amount of earnings and is paralysed for life. You couldn't sue the Minister for Health as they hold ministerial immunity. I don't think the head of a health trust has vicarious liability. michael
It was MSSA she got rather than MRSA wasn't it? And didn't it all come about after she cracked her ribs "bonking" on a table? I hadn't realised she had issues walking until today though, £5m is supposed to cover her loss of earnings until death.

Charlotte
coming out of court in a wheelchair looks a dam site better for her doesnt it? loss of earnings till death! when was the last time she was seen on the tele Properly just before she contracted an illness that put her in a coma from a dirty hospital. I wouldn't imagine you'd be thinking about the other ill people if you were in that position.
michael
coming out of court in a wheelchair looks a dam site better for her doesnt it? loss of earnings till death! when was the last time she was seen on the tele I suspect she'd probably be willing to swap the £5m if she could rewind her life a bit and do without the lips, MSSA, dodgy legs and so on though. It's a nice chunk of cash but money isn''t everything.
tooquicktostop
It was an out of court settlement and was based on loss of earnings, worth a read and I think may actually make the NHS become a cleaner place, she has suffered and has every right to be compensated, IMO of course http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/life_and_style/health/article3201003.ece

Max Headroom
Wasn't it not so long ago that during the petrol strikes, the government said that the NHS would suffer. I would hate to think what it would be like if they really didnt get any money. We suffer 3rd rate hospitals, our roads are crumbling, the education system is a joke and yet we do not question where the money has gone?
