xanderroan
Hi All, Just bought an L reg 3.0 auto aerotop, always fancied a Supra and also wanted something fun for summer... a 2002 diesel passat estate will be on ebay this weekend in case anyone is interested So the next thing that tempts me is does anyone know a garage in London that could replace the 3.0 N/A engine and auto box with a TT manual? I always wanted this combination. Update 20/01/08 Picked up the Supra yesterday - i'm so happy, they are even more fun to drive than i thought! the auto is very smooth and the engine seems to run well, loaded some pictures too.. might take a minute to download I paid £5000, mileage is a bit high at 89,000 - but condition looks good. It was exactly as described - purchased from discount car centre (dcc) in Manchester. I believe the last owner was an enthusiast so he may be here?? http://www.alex-roan.net/supra1.jpg http://www.alex-roan.net/supra2.jpg http://www.alex-roan.net/supra3.jpg http://www.alex-roan.net/supra4.jpg http://www.alex-roan.net/supra5.jpg http://www.alex-roan.net/supra6.jpg If anyone is interested to see my past Japanese cars, I have them on my website here http://www.alex-roan.net/Ride/Ride.htm Thanks everyone for all the warm welcomes & am definitely now in the market for a six speed box and engine for conversion in case anyone comes across one let me know (I realise there is a bit of competition for them!) jamesmark
New member, new supra, old question. There is loads of places that can do it. Jezz (Trader on here) owns a breakers that offers this service but it is going to be very costly, probably around £5k to do what you want. Or if you fancy doing it yourself become a member best £10 (£30 for life) you will spend and post in the wanted section. and pics

Lee P
Welcome, not cheap to do. Whifbitz are near to you they could do the conversion for you. Give Paul a try he's in the traders section. Lee
Kranz
You'd probably be best off buying a written off manual TT and swapping the relevant bits over. No idea of cost, but others have recently bought scrappers for this purpose. Anyway, welcome to the club
xanderroan
bump in case people want to see pictures.. files are a bit large so may take a while to view on dial up. Also - just wanted to say thanks to all for the warm welcome. Thanks to Whifbitz for already giving me some advice on a manual conversion via pm And finally an apology to all the others looking for TT six speed manuals for the conversion as I'm now extra competition in the bidding - sorry I'm working abroad during the week at the moment, but i'll keep my eye open for any club meets on w/end days in the south & might get the chance to catch up with some of you soon. xanderroan
Yeah - i was looking at the model comparison table on the website and I noticed that wooden dash was an optional extra - can't decide if i like it or not though I guess it would look crazy with the EL-GLO dials! (which I'm thinking of putting my name down for, but will maybe wait till after i get the manual dials).
fizzle
surely u could of just spent the xtra 5k ur goin 2 have 2 spend on converting it and bought a TT???
xanderroan
well they didn't make a manual aero top, so i would have had to buy one already converted and they hardly ever seem to come up... and i kind of wanted something fairly standard to start with, i guess chances of ever seeing a standard converted aerotop tt manual are very low
