Guest dejacky
I prefer to use one small screen to dispaly all my vital engine parameters instead of several gauges. Does anyone know how to display a few tuning "Parameters" from AEMPro software on a small Personal Digital Assistant like a color Palm Pilot or Dell Axim like device? I'm referring to the "Parameter" box in AEMPro software that simply shows things like Engine Load (boost), 02 readings, Knock voltage, etc. I would only need to display 5 or 6 of these in the simple bar-graph form as in AemPro version 1. I was thinking of something like the "RunTime Display Screen" on this pocket tune software: http://www.garysphotography.com/pockettune/index.htm
Ryan.G
I have never seen any Aem tuning software designed for a PDA probably due to the fact that the processor wont be able to handle it but you can buy *hardware* that has decoded the AEM data stream and are able to view parameters that the AEM Data gauge can see, like the Gauge Tech does below. http://www.gauge-tech.com/ I have just got hold of a small Tablet pc which i am going to be mounting in a customers car ready for this years time attack. See below although i am still working on the dashboard at present to make sure it is easily viewable. It is only 244mm x 160mm x 28mm Ryan
tooquicktostop
I have just had that gauge fitted to my car, will be interested to see how useful the information is and the quality of the streaming, I am using it to detect Knock really and keep an eye on boost etc I am told the AEM can be set up in many ways though to give warnings, flashing red warning triangle for knock etc if you did not want to clutter up the car with gauges (too late for me on that one!) I do not think you can get this gauge new anymore, perhaps Ryan knows more on that one ??
Ryan.G
I have only seen the gauge tech once installed in a customers car and was very impressed with it although i only briefly looked at it. TBH though its not really needed for a well mapped car as the Aem has a closed loop knock control and closed loop boost control which are Awesome when setup correctly. The knock control can be that good that if i dial in the extra timing i dont even hear any noise through the cans as the Aem has pulled it that quick. It only when you look at the logs that you see it pulled timing. Also then with the boost control setup right users can have a switch to run either high, low boost and against speed. So any Aem owners could sell any external BC as the AEM will always do a better job. When setup correctly you just punch in what boost you would like and done. You are also right about the Warning light as i figured out recently how to make it illimuliate if the ecu has detected knock Ryan I have just had that gauge fitted to my car, will be interested to see how useful the information is and the quality of the streaming, I am using it to detect Knock really and keep an eye on boost etc I am told the AEM can be set up in many ways though to give warnings, flashing red warning triangle for knock etc if you did not want to clutter up the car with gauges (too late for me on that one!)
