Green Peace
Just been watching 25 Years of the Comedy store... I'm amazed at who people found funny. Alexi Sayle...I just never got it. Clive Anderson...Was Funny until he ended his career by taking the piss out of the Bee Gees...and was rarely seen again after....now that WAS Funny. However Rik Mayel launched his career on totallly slating Cliff Richard..and Cliff Richard seemed to be quite happy at the time to be one of his jokes. I have to say for me my favourite has always been Rowan Atkinson...after his appearence in 'The Not The Nine O Clock News' series...I managed to buy two of the series's on DVD recently for my Brov for Christmas..In real life Atkinson is a miserable sod. The most UNFUNNY person I have ever seen is Graham Norton...infact i knew his flatmate Stephan Deracriox who i used to go to college with...and I made a student film called 'What Happened to Sally' starring Graham and filmed mostly at his 14th floor Hackney squat (infested with cockroaches)...I said to Stephan once...he'll never make it big......!!! Anyone got any jobs going.......lol. Whos your favourite?
CJ
Of todays lot I like Peter Kay and Lee Evans. Of the old school, Tommy Cooper was brilliant!

Ian C
I've got the first three series of Seinfeld for xmas and I'm going through the episodes at an alarming rate. Observational humour rocks, but not many people in Blighty 'get' Jerry Seinfeld's humour. It's standup as well as sitcom so I think it counts in this arena In the UK? Peter Kaye. Easily the funniest standup I've ever seen. ("Garlic? On bread? Garlic bread? Am I hearing you right? Are you mental? Garlic bread?!") -Ian

Jake
or Emo Philips or Stephen Wright Bill Hicks is still #1 for me though
michael
It varies depending on mood but Eddie Izzard, Peter Kay and Jack Dee usually do the trick for me - it's a shame Dee did those terrible variety show style things with the guests but I guess he needed some cash Paul Merton's show was great in a surreal way and he's good on Have I got News... and Room 101, I just wonder how much editing goes on to remove the unfunny stuff? I've not seen anything of him live really, I expect he's amusing though. When I'm in more of a silly mood I enjoy a bit of Tom Green stuff, Viva la Bam, Jackass style stuff but they don't fall into the comedian bracket. Most unfunny person is a close battle - Graham Norton is there for sure (he's gay you know) and then it's the old school people like Frank Carson, Bernard Manning etc - they make me cringe. Thorin
How could I have forgotten those two? :kicks self: BB is fantastic when he does the stand up thing with the instruments. Yeah I keep meaning to go buy his latest DVD, Part Troll.

Sunday Sport...Front page....Graham Norton Marries Queen Mother......on Mars! Bernard Manning and Graham Norton should team up together and do a double act he he...then they WOULD be funny... What ever happened to Little and Large..and Cannon and Ball...they were pretty awful...and Jim (smashing super lovely great) Bowen. I think Ricky Gervais (have I spelled it right) and Steve Coogan are my favourites of today..thing is my eldest brother who i havent spoken to for about 5 years is exactly like Ricky Gervais which makes it all the more funny...spitting image, even talks and sounds like him.(which explains why I havent spoken to him for five years) I havent quite got the Peter Kaye thing yet...watched Pheonix nights a couple of times...been to a few working mens clubs in the North East and Bradford so kind of get the humour but need to watch a bit more of him....or spend a bit more time North of Watford to really get it he he. Clarkey
Although American - I like listening & watching Howard Stern tv & radio show. The guy does the most outrageous things - I tune in mainly to see what'll say next!
Trig
For me its Lee Evans without a doubt but Peter Kaye and Jack Dee kick ass too!
michael
The Saturday night comics of old that now reside on piers each summer used to be funny at the time but I was probably easier to amuse then, I loved stuff like the Grumbleweeds, Canon & Ball etc but when you see it now it's hard to raise a smile I missed Coogan too - very amusing guy. I havent quite got the Peter Kaye thing yet...watched Pheonix nights a couple of times...been to a few working mens clubs in the North East and Bradford so kind of get the humour but need to watch a bit more of him....or spend a bit more time North of Watford to really get it he he. With Peter Kay it definately helps to be around his age and northern, his observational stand up style is very easy to recognise for someone like me, I'm guessing some of the jokes might be a bit vague for anyone more southern and posh One I forgot to mention, Leigh Francis of Bo Selecta fame - cracks me up but it's likely to get old soon in the same way Ali G did. Leigh comes from the town I currently live in and I have no idea how someone that funny can come out of a pikey grey northern rot hole and keep a smile on his face. Comedy is great. Ian C
I can't stand phoenix nights It's only the standup I like. Bill Bailey - yes, very good. I'm no real fan of angry american comics though, some of their material is good but I wouldn't put myself out to watch them. Can't beat Leary's "Asshole" song though, I've got that in the car -Ian

J4CK50N
Peter Kay is very funny. Eddie Murphy Raw also made me laugh till it hurt!!! Tommy Cooper was brilliant Mike Reid can also have good days in an old skool style!!! I last saw Jim Bowen on the 2nd Series of Phoenix Nights, and if you've got the DVD watch the outtakes and he gets everything wrong!!! Just my 2p worth
terribleturner
I really love Lee Evans, but last year i was watching a bit of Chubby Roy Brown on M+M and i thought all though he can be a little too rude sometimes he was really funny. I know everyone loves Eddie Izzard i just don't get him.
