Daston
Got the misses a little car for when she passes her test and I can use it to potter about to do the shoppin etc so the supe can stay all nice and dry. Put down the deposit last Wednesday and went to pick it up saturday (this is a garage by the way). Got there Saturday (around 35mile round trip) only to be told they couldnt find the MOT paperwork so couldnt tax the car. Ensured me that they would print a new sheet off Monday and the car would be ok to be picked up. So left work an hour early on monday and arranged for my other halfs mum to give me a lift (hard to drive 2 cars at once). We got there and the lass said "I will just grab the tax disk will be a couple of min" 45 minuets later she returns and says that the post office wont tax the car because its got "an emergancy MOT certificate". So rather miffed at this they agreed to deliver the car to us tonight, guess what no car! Aparently some staff are ill and they havent the man power to do it! Now would you put this down to just bad managment or something dodgy?

Daston
whats an emergency MOT, surely its either got an MOt or doesn't? no idea the bit of paper was like a normal mot cert but red. Sounded like a post office guy who didnt want to take on extra work just before 5 and was going by the book
Havard
This smells a little fishy to me!! I'd fook them off and try to get your money back. I wouldn't want to deal with a place like that if you have any problems with the car under warranty etc!! H.
garethr
......the post office won't tax the car because its got "an emergancy MOT certificate". That's odd, since the MOT Emergency Test Certificate (VT 20ET) says that "......this document will be used for legal purposes to confirm that your vehicle has passed its MOT test". .
