JustGav
I've got an LG plasma as well, not exactly the same model, I got an LG46pc56 or something like that. Can't complain at the LG quality, nice screen.

Tricky-Ricky
I was told to stay away from Phillips when looking for an LCD, i think LG are supposed to be good, i went for Sony Bravia, great TV but not cheap.
AlexM
Have you considered a Panasonic TH42PX70? Gorgeous screen, brilliant with off-air tv, movies and gaming, not so great if you want to use a PC with it. You should be able to find one with a wall mount or pedestal for £800 or less.. Edit: £700 + £30 del at Empiredirect.

Are modern P's better then the first gen ones? ie screen burn etc. Of course I will be turning the settings down from the high defaults. Forgot to say it'll have to handle CeBeebies for 10hrs a day, I love kids TV.
MaveriK
Cant look it up now but i think LG have a new picture engine in their newer screens. This new engine supports 1080p from memory i believe and i think they are around £

MrRalphMan
Panasonic all the way for me. Is this due to only good experiences or bad ones? Need some kinda reason behind your opinion..
Vaughany
Pansonic Viera or the new Pioneer Kouros range mate, these are suppose to be the best on the market. I have a 42" Panasonic mate PX70, it cost me about £900 which at the time was a little bit more expensive than the equivalent LG. In the industry Panasonic are considered head and shoulders above LG! juanchan
I was told to stay away from Phillips when looking for an LCD, i think LG are supposed to be good, i went for Sony Bravia, great TV but not cheap. LG and Philips co-make their screens (can't see how one would be that significantly better than the other) and stood head and shoulders above the competition when I was looking for an LCD TV over Christmas. All, We fancy buying another TV and are looking at the following. LG 42LC51 Philips 42PFL5522 Any one got one of these? This is my current price limit, so no crazy TVs please? On that budget I would honestly look at a slightly smaller, better quality screen. There are some fantastic 37" screens out there.
keancy
Is this due to only good experiences or bad ones? Need some kinda reason behind your opinion.. You get what you pay for. Panasonic are a great make and durable. I have an old 32" Panasonic that is in my sons room now, 10 years old never a fault. Now had a 42" Panasonic for just over 14 months, great quality. My DVD and VCR are also Panasonic. My VCR that was bought at same time as first telly lasted till 6 months ago and that is with 3-4 hours daily use. If you go somewhere like Richer Sounds, have a look at the makes they have on display. They don't even sell Sony LCD TV's, and very few Panasonics cut the mustard in their eyes either. The makes I've heard good reviews about are Sharp, LG, Philips, Samsung (although Samsungs get slated for sound by some people) and to a lesser extent, Panasonic. Are they an agent for these brands that they slag off Rich! I have made mistakes in the past with certain makes but Panasonic and Toshiba have never let me down. I looked really long and hard when buying my 37" Plasma and the Panasonic Viera walked it by a mile in my eyes. 5yr guarantee and wonderful sound quality. I did nearly go for the Samsung but the sound was woeful!! H.
