E-bay rip off - how can I get 'em back?

I have been ripped off my a person on Ebay. It is only for a measly £12 but that isn't the point - I fuc*ing hate being taken for a mug and I want retribution!

The question is, how do I get them back? I paid via paypal but it was for an offline transaction and all I have is an AOL email address. What can I do to either frighten the shit out of them or otherwise hurt them

I think paypal offer assistance in this situaition even though it was not through e-bay, i had problems with a bloke in the US, admittedly it was an e-bay auction, but paypal were more than helpfull.

they want to be seen as a securey method of transfering money for both parties

Ah that's annoying, had a similar thing myself, it's always the fraudsters that seem to drag it out :(

I'm presuming it's a user on eBay that offered you something outside of the system? Are they still active on eBay?

Are they pretending to be in the UK or overseas?

No :(
Oh. Was I supposed to have sent you it? I can do you a copy right now if you like.

I have just written to another one of her "buyers" who gave her negative feedback. I have asked him if he has contact details he would share.

LOL! I just did the same! He's gonna wonder WTF is going on.

With the seller only accepting paypal you wouldn't have been sent their address but you should have received an automated email from Ebay giving payment details including a name and the town where they live.

It's not much but you could try the electoral register.

Normally if you have the username and item number you can obtain contact details, but because Ebay has stopped her account it doesn't work.

Surely you have the right to get these from Ebay.

I'm still waiting for an airbrush that I won 27 days ago, cannot contact the seller - cost me £40.

The problem is the item was sold off ebay and hence there is no comeback on ebay ay all.

She's had a lot of recent transactions and one of her buyers must have the email they get sent with her name and town details.

It would be nice to send her a bogus email somehow to get her details.

Like you said it's not the £12 but just the fact they ripped you off. :flame Dev

Im in a similar predicament myself. Bought a 40G ipod from amazon, you know the second hand section, and once the seller had my details he emptied my account completely. Was my own fault should have seen the scam coming but wanted it in a hurry for a present. Again all i have is a hotmail email account. Luckily i may be able to get the money back from the bank but im not sure. Its just the knowing that youve just paid off some guys depts or somat for them. Its so frustrating, even if i get the money back. I too hate feeling like a mug
