Chris Wilson
Can anyone under 20, and not affiliated with the armed services, guides or scouts actually read a map and compass properly these days? When the balloon goes up and the satellites shut down, no one except those of my age, and too old to get far on foot anyway, will be able to get out of their own back yard I find a £2.50 map from any petrol station quite adequate for finding my way anywhere, cigarette lighter sockets are for cigarette lighters... tooquicktostop
Dont you find it a bit of a distraction having the map to read and driving, how can it be that you cant take a call with your phone but you can read a map I remember too many rows with my ex wife map reading and pointing out required junctions 100 yards after we have passed them Chris is this of any use to you

Pot
My Hubby is ex army and actually a dab hand at reading road maps, only thing is the one we have is as old as the hills. So time to reward his past experience with some time off, let the Sat Nav do the talking
keancy
Hi give me a fiver and you can follow me lol (i use Tom Tom) and I am also near Liskeard your next port of call for the meet I wouldn't have to pay you hun, you would be kind enough to let me follow You know where Trago Mills is near Liskeard?? shes paying me a fiver to follow from bideford she went the wrong way then lol Rich LOL, yes I would have, Blackie will be picked on ermmm up later along the lines from Bideford my god I just realised, could it be true you ARE coming too! Yep, he is i was sort of hoping i was getting picked up from there WHERE? Rich ohhhhh yes, fyi getting picked up in bideford (as the thread says) i only "technicly" know you and anja so looking forward to meeting you two (dont know the rest) Don't worry we will collect you Oh right; the pleasures all mine:p must read threads lol Rich Yes you should yeah, could help bidefords about 30mins down the road from me, you need to go through it to get to bude (anja says so could be wrong lol) so theres no point in me driving to cornwall and back again, so i am just meeting up in biddy So the route we selected depicts at the moment yes. It's all in the correct thread hunny. I find a £2.50 map from any petrol station quite adequate for finding my way anywhere, cigarette lighter sockets are for cigarette lighters... Indeed Chris So time to reward his past experience with some time off, let the Sat Nav do the talking He doesn't want sat naFF, nor do I realyly. No need to be honest. Many a Lorry and Bus Driver has gotten stuck thanks to their sat naFF on these ere Cornish roads.
