"Rods"

As part of my usual ritual to watch crap on TV I came across a programme on "rods" - apparently they are creatures that fly through the sky so quickly that we can't see them. People photograph the sky and record TV shows to watch back in slow motion to see them, sane people say they are just insects, these chaps disagree.

michael ive been following these for a while, and with a little deeper research you can find there appearing all over the place,

ive watched footage from news reporters in Iraq and seen them pass over head !

Theres a massive cave in mexico somewhere where they were fiilmed and they somehow measured them - - - some were like 12 feet long,.

however,if you watch old outside footage from anywhere i guarantee you will spot more,

some people have suggested they can pass thru solid matter but i doubt it.

I've logged on and off the rod sites for a few years now. If nothing else its incredibly intriguing. The usual explanation is that they are insects caught by the rather long 'shutter' speed of modern digital video cameras...supposed to explain how they appear to be long and multi winged... a single image is actually merged from more than one instant, effectively stretching the image. I didnt explain that well at all, but anyhoo, I dont think its a quirk of video. I think what you see is what you get. Fascinating.

To quote Lt Ripley "Did IQs just drop sharply while I was out of the room?"

Are all you people joking? It's been explained quite sufficiently that it's a camera effect. Why do people still believe in this nonsense? I'd be happier if more people went to church rather than clinging on to any old mumbo-jumbo.
