Pot
Sheefa, I've sent him a text to see if he doesn't mind me giving you his number, I'm not sure when I'll get one back, he's probably off polishing the Air Marshalls propeller

Charlotte
Congratulations. Excuse my ignorance but how many years before you become an officer?
Sheefa
Congratulations. Excuse my ignorance but how many years before you become an officer? Thank you Charlotte. I have Initial Officer Training for 30 weeks (3x10 week blocks of various training) and then I will graduate as a Pilot Officer. However, I then have to complete the Junior Regiment Officers Course (JROC) which lasts 37 weeks and then I become a fully fledged Regiment Officer. All in all nearly 1.5 years training. Sheefa
Not sure about the "don't question them" bit as there are a fair few sub-standard seniors out there. Greg - listen to the guys and your common sense will prevail; however, you are the officer at the end of the day and the one that makes the final decision! Completely agree and restu assured I will Andy. Thank you so much for all your help so far mate. Really appreciate it. Hopefully we'll be meeting in a different scenario sometime in the near future. Sheefa, I've sent him a text to see if he doesn't mind me giving you his number, I'm not sure when I'll get one back, he's probably off polishing the Air Marshalls propeller Thanks Pot. That's most kind of you pal. I'll drop him a text later.

Sheefa
congrats - what aircraft will you train on? I miss flying my old bird PS dont pull on your stick too much:p Rich I won't be flying Rich! I will be working with a wide range of weaponary though. I will essentially be Combat Infantry, an Officer. Have a look at the first page of this thread for more info. What did your family say? Did your dad do the same? If I was ever a mother I'm not sure I could cope with one of my children being in the forces. It's been a nightmare Charlotte. My Dad does support it, but my mum broke down a week or so ago after hearing about two Marines being killed and now I have the result it's going to be more difficult. They both support me though. Someone has to do it................
Charlotte
Someone has to do it................ What is your motive?
dangerous brain
Congratulations man. Like I said in PM this is the start of the hard bit. Rodney training is just putting up with a lot of BS and keeping the old trap shut and toeing the party line. The rock officer training will be the bloody hard bit. Standard rock training is almost as solid as P company and marine training so the rodney version is gonna be ARD. Its all about attitude now and how you deal with tiredness (hope you aren't a grumpy tired person lol)

Sheefa
What is your motive? It's something I have just wanted to do since I was young. It's one of the most challenging and rewarding careers available, and the idea of becoming more physically and mentally robust than I could dream possible, by just doing my job, is ideal! Congratulations man. Like I said in PM this is the start of the hard bit. Rodney training is just putting up with a lot of BS and keeping the old trap shut and toeing the party line. Its all about attitude now and how you deal with tiredness (hope you aren't a grumpy tired person lol) Thanks for your PM Brian. Yes mate, the JROC training is damn hard. Only 6 out of 25 passed this year (causes of failure unknown!) Scary. It will be hard but I'm pretty damn determined and wouldn't of signed up for this otherwise. Thanks bud. Give us a shout if you end up near Cosford any time. We can go for a few pints then. Will do mate
