Class One
Congrats. So as you're going to take the Queens' Commission, there'll be no more threads like this one. You'll have to beahve like a gentleman you know. Anyway only pulling your leg, good luck with your course, much hard work ahead.
Sheefa
Thanks again all. I thoroughly intend to work my arse off and gain the trust of any men under my command. I've heard of twatish officers in the past and have met a few myself. I don't intend on being one of them. I know it's the gunners out their doing the 'real' work with me pointing a stick! As for the threads Doug, I got this far based on my 'sparkling' personality (as Charlotte put it albeit in a sarcastic way) so I won't stop now! Not quite Greg as you will soon find yourself busting your bollocks much more than the guys will ever bust theirs! Trust me - the easiest part is the training:D

Shadow Beast
when you get gunners, just listen to the seniors, they will know a hell of a lot more than you will You have hit the nail on the head there mate, having been a senior since 2004 i have had my fair share of run ins with young officers, they have it drilled into them at college that they are in charge and that they must lead the troop, and its all crap. How can someone that has been in the forces 6 months tops, lead 30 guys over some one that has 15 years service. If i can give you any advice greg it is what has been said above, listen to your seniors, do what they tell you, dont question them and you will get on fine. Oh turn up at the first troop do with 3 crates of beer and that will have you in there good books!! richie.

SupraAyf
listen to your seniors, do what they tell you, dont question them and you will get on fine. Not sure about the "don't question them" bit as there are a fair few sub-standard seniors out there. Greg - listen to the guys and your common sense will prevail; however, you are the officer at the end of the day and the one that makes the final decision! Pot
Good news mate, and fair play to you - Does that mean you can get the engineers to knock out a load more speaker brackets?... lol I've got a mate who has recently left for his Officer Entry, if you like I'll see if he doesn't mind passing you his number and e-mail so you can get some tips and so on, he used to have a tuned Evo 6 so he isn't too anal
