rag
My head gasket went the day before JAE and I took it to a garage to get it fixed. Driving home from work last night it goes again. Surely that work that was carried out on it a few months back would have lasted longer? Or is it just one of those things that could happen any time? I would be very grateful for any advise. JustGav
Definitely....unless you are running(/doing) something silly.. HGs shouldn't go. In fact I've only EVER blown one in my 17 years of driving, and I've given some cars abuse. Hell, I've blown more gearboxes. Out of interest do you have your heater matrix bypassed? EDIT : Actually, I've blown 2 HGs. One on a modified A-series engine which was my fault for mixing different head combinations and valves. The 2nd was on a tracked 3 series BMW when I used to do high speed instruction and the car had been thrased all day long and it lost some water. JustGav
quiksilver pug Hmmm, not much experience with them going. I had a 106 Rallye and that took a LOT of abuse without ever going pop. I'd hazard a guess that the job wasn't done right in the first place.
rag
But how would you approach the mechanic? I have fallen out with him since he first fixed it and he is a really loud and aggressive man. Just got a feeling there is nothing I can do and will have to cut my losses.
