Need some help if possible chaps!

Need to know where I stand on a car I have bought. Basically its knackered and wasnt right from the second day I bought it. It has come with a full warrenty for 6 months but its just too much hassle.

Is there any law where cars bought from a garage can be taken back if it is faulty within the first few days?

The Garage has basically said use the warrenty, thats what its for, but i dont have the time to spend getting it fixed, and basically want out! Help please, anyone!

Cheers,

Jake

You'll be looking to get Trading Standards involved as the car should be fit for purpose when sold.

You can claim on the warranty, but most used car warranties given away with cars aren't really worth the paper they are written on due to exclusions for certain components & limits on repair costs.

Thats what I have been thinking, I just wanted to know what the law has to say about it. I immediately booked it into a main dealer and only now (2weeks later) I have found out it basically needs a new engine. It would be far to much hassle from what ive heard to source an engine and get it fitted.

Any more advise welcome.

I've heard stories of people kicking up a fuss with the garage during a busy period working for people that have bought a wrong un', make sure there is someone looking to buy, march in and have a right old moan, telling them what you think of their poxy garage and mention trading standards to them too, could work, if there's potential customers in they will have to try and please you so not to put other buyers off.

Worth a try :D
