lol ive done a similar thing.....oh i shouldnt laugh anyway if you drop some pics up here of the keyboard i have a few toshiba's here that you can have the keys off if they are the same? they do change the bottom pins under the keys (like a small black cradle) quite a bit but cross your fingers i may be able to bail you out of jail.need to know keys missing/colour of keys and what cradle you need.

The letters have a small white cradle / gate scissor section.

Almost like the underside of a deck chair mechanism

you might find you haven't knacked them they clip in if the latch or lugs haven't broken you can clip them back in i don't know if you can buy keys on there own but you can buy a new key board let me know if you need one ill find one for you try here http://www.laptopexpress.com/products.asp?recnumber=504 £35+VAT

I did manage to clip a few letters back on, but those I need (ie: Fn' 'Alt' 'Shift' 'A' 'S' 'Z' 'X') have all broken clips so wont re-attach

i may have something similar here,its a different keyboard as yours has the touchpad but keys are same colour i think and they are white cradles, ill post pic in a minute!

 

ps are you just short of the cradles?

i do have at least 2 sorts you could try but i do have some white ones

here you go,one thing i noticed was the side keys ie shift/cntl etc are a slightly darker colour but have a look anyway

When I spoke to Dad this morning he was looking into using house insurance which needed original parts with warranty however, I dont think he expected to find a replacement keys like this .

 

I'll talk to him again tomorrow and see what he says.

I can't dude.

The cradles and lugs are broken.

A few keys have large chunks missings and the painted letters are sratched too.

did you say your dad was thinking of using home insurance policy to cover that will shoot up abit, i take it you dont have toshiba cover, local shops tend to keep lots of spares gues sthey could sort it for around £30-50 not worth hoome insurnace claim as they will charge you this amount as excess
