Holeshot
Are you really fussed about making the car look older by a year or so? It's not that important seeing as it's 8 years old already!
adam bell
there is a lot more to lose if you dont put it on there.
CJ
Don't fall for that one! there is a lot more to lose if you dont put it on there. I could not agree more. If you sell that plate it will come back to haunt you many many times in future disputes.
Rob
I think it's too late, the fact that you've even told her that you've thought about selling it. You've blown it already.

turbonut
It doesn't age the car. It shows people how you value it and have made it your own. Your girlfriend has put a lot of time, effort and love into finding you that plate, knowing how you feel about your car. Be appreciative, some fellah's g/fs / partners on here hate their mans car and would rather see it go to a crusher than have a cherished reg on it. AndrewOW
I would really like a private plate on mine, even if it makes it 'look' older, but as mine's an 'L' reg anyway, there's not much chance of that! Anyway, they don't come cheap, and obviously your girlfriend has taken time and money to get that for you, you should put it on right now! How would you like it if you bought her some expensive jewellery, only for her to sell it?!

Stevo
My girlfriend wouldn't ever contemplate getting me anything for the car for Xmas. That's one thoughtful lass you've got there mate.
Kev.O
I'd put it on if I were you. The other problem would be trying to sell it IMO as most cars on here are too old to put that plate on the car
juanchan
What's the big deal with making the car appear to be older than it really is? I found a "C" reg plate I thought wasn't too bad a while back but I'd rather spend my money elsewhere personally. If it's an Xmas present, it should be on proud display on the Supe already!
