adam bell
i find it funny you think they are over paid. i am a massive chicago bulls fan as i have played basketball for 18 years, micheal jordan was on 600,000 a week in his prime. is lewis hamilton overpaid millions a year. are movie stars overpaid who get 15million a movie. they all get paid excessive amounts but i wouldnt mind. Ian C
Yeah but no-one starts a fight over Lewis Hamilton. I couldn't find the "I'm not a violent tribal psycho throwback" option in the poll so I chose the inadequate "No" instead
Charlotte
i find it funny you think they are over paid. Compared to a nurse who tends to you when you are sick and gets paid £25k a year, they are overpaid.
adam bell
my wife is an aux nurse she only gets 14k a year. but you cant blame someone who is the best in the world at there chosen occupation if they rewarded for it. i agree its a lot but if i was that good at football i dont think it would bother me. how much does a top harley st doctor earn a year, which is the comparrison for the top premier ship players
Charlotte
how much does a top harley st doctor earn a year, which is the comparrison for the top premier ship players I wouldn't have thought it was £500k a week.
CJ
I wouldn't have thought it was £500k a week. I don't think you'll find any pro football player on that kind of money.
adam bell
its not, but footballers only get 100k a week ( only lol ). basketball, american football and baseball is that high
hoff
Compared to a nurse who tends to you when you are sick and gets paid £25k a year, they are overpaid. I agree. However you cant blame the players for being offered that much. Find me someone who would turn it down and say no i just want £25k a year. Football is big business and the players are the bread and butter so the clubs will pay them what they can so the best possible players will join them, help them win things and increase support, therefore making the "company" more money. Its this simple, football is a way of life and for people like me who love it you can go through so much emotion in 90 minutes. There is not alot else which can do that to you. I dont know why though.
Charlotte
I don't think you'll find any pro football player on that kind of money. I was exaggerating for the purposes of my argument. I don't suppose you can really compare the two. One job uses their body, the other their brain. It's just a shame the brain one gets less money than the body one. Rob Dublin
Love my football, play 3 or 4 times during the week. Prefer to play than watch, wouldn't miss a match cos there was a match on telly unless it was a huge one!

AJI
I think the general chav attitude of the players is a big problem in football. They all spit from both their mouths and noses all the time... they all think they are way above the knoledge of the referee and they all seem to make miraculous recoveries once they realise a foul has been awarded. In the history of the game has a referee ever changed his decision based on 8 or 9 players swearing at him ??? And then if they square up to another player why don't they actually throw punches ? Whats the point in shouting f'ing this and f'ing that all over the place and pushing your body around as if you are about to hit them, but then have to wait until all your 'calm down calm down' buddies come along to step in between ?? Most games to me look like the general scenes on a saturday night at 3am outside night clubs where lots of chavs dressed in white with their trakkies tucked into their socks start shouting 'come on then!' to everyone. But if you actually turn round and take up their offer, they run away to gether their mates. I'm sorry, I'm just one of those people who just can't take to the game. I grew up with Rugby from an early age and used to play it every weekend (at both club and county level). The attitudes of the two games are so very different. hoff
Fighting in rugby is common but the players dont get punished just an ear full. Also as rugby is such an aggresive sport studies show that fans dont get as wound up as there are always big tackles going in. In football there is less of that so the fans are getting wound up and very little happens on the pitch to release it. That was from a genuin study, still doesn't excuse some fans behaviour. But you must remember its only a few, but they are the ones brought to the attention of the masses so we all get tared with the same brush. Carl_S
I bet your mate doesn't have many lows as an Arsenal fan... They have been in the top 4 for years!! Be a Spurs fan, it has everything......pleasure, pain, scandal, disappointment, more scandal and finally losing when you've got the game in the bag.... H. Yeah he has it easy. I hate football. Its a game played by over paid ego-centric ponces that can't accept a single decision made by the ref. Oh, and they like to hug and kiss each other and wear silly hair styles and gloves and tights in some cases. LMAO, hillarious parody. I am not bothered on football but will on occasion watch a man unt or England match (as an excuse to have a few beers). They are completely overpaid and most just seem like little nansies that throw themselves on the floor if they get a SLIGHT tap off another player. Rugby fans seem much more chilled, relaxed and non threatening. I live just beside saracens stadium in watford and see crowds often. Both football and rugby - (Watford football club). Carl_S
Love playing football. Don't really bother watching it. nice, the odd occasion where I have played I find it very fun. But not fun enought to join a club, buy boots, and training every cold sunday morning in a local park, wearing shorts and long socks or whatever. CraigGilchrist
Been to 3 matches in my life, Falkirk vs Ross County in the Scottish 'challenge' cup final, Falkirk vs Dunfermline in some random game, and a Hibs Intertoto Cup cup game on the day I moved into a flat in Easter Road (as a break from moving boxes). I'm a Norwich FC fan though, and follow Newcastle (who I'm going to see against Blackburn - hopefully - in March for my birthday. ). I've also had the good fortune of having 'my' team win at all three of the matches I've been to, so I'm hoping that rubs off. Definitely wouldn't say I'm fanatical, but as my flatmate is I see about 5 games a week on Sky!
