SupraStar 3000
Looking for a portable DVD player that can also record (Burn) to DVD at the same time. I'm well into RC heli's at moment and just ordered a model with a built in colour AV (Radio) video camera. What I need is a way to record the video onto a PC or Mac. (I dont have iSight on the Macs) Getting the video to VHS is easy as the phono cable plugs into any video recorder/TV via the Scart or AV in ports, but I want the footage on a PC to edit. Another problem is I don't want to carry a PC, TV, Video and power generator every time I want to capture video. What would be ideal is a portable DVD player with AV in (which most have) that can ALSO burn to DVD whilst playing. Anyone know if one is available or any other ideas. Sheefa
To answer your first question Ed, I have a spare TV card that you are more than wlecome to have. Do you have a desktop? This allowed me to transfer video from my old Hi-8 camera to the PC and save the video stream. It has a recording function on the software you see. Can't remember what format it stores it in. I would imagine that a TV card will do the trick. This is the one I've got mate, it's old, very old but did the job and you can have it to try if you want: http://computing.kelkoo.co.uk/ps_9266455/100066613.html It has a composite video input, a video input and an S-video input and it says on the box 'Burn into DVD, VCD, SVCD etc with PIP (Picture in Picture) Playback"
SupraStar 3000
Cheers Greg. I really appreciate that bud. The only problem is, I'm without a desktop PC at home. I could borrow a PC but logistically its a pain, so before I take you up on that very kind offer Im going to explore the possibilities of DVD burning on portable players first. IF not, I'll let you know. Thanks again Greg.

SupraStar 3000
Andyou, Yep, tried that idea mate. Both my camcorders wont record from another device. Bignum, I too think this is the way to go. Was looking at the Archos AV500 or AV504 units. Both look good but I can't be sure if they will record from AV to hardisk. The pnly info I can find on the net says "record TV with the dock" which is no good out in the flying feilds.
