Spyda
It's time to replace my rear tyres, I've been running on Goodyear GSD3 and I've really liked them. I've been quoted about 150 quid per tyre, which is not too bad, but I've also been quoted 130 per tyre for the Pirelli P7000, I've no experience of these tyres has anyone used them? Would you recommend them on the Supra? What about Toyo Proxies? I had them on my little V6 mx-3 and they were pretty good to me... Cheers, Adam. Bobbystone
Right, I have only tested one set of tyres on my supe which were Toyo T1'S. They were on a set of 18's and they are fantastic and i think they will cost you around £150 a piece. Also the new set of toyos are out the T1R's but these are slightly more but have been said to be fantastic in the wet. Good luck in your choice and let us know what you go for. JustGav
I had new GS03's fitted for 101 per tyre here in hampshire.... They stick like proverbial crap to a blanket... Gav
Wipeout
Try Micheldever in Hampshire they are about £100 per tyre F1 (gsd3). They might deliver but not sure. £150 seems a bit much, there are internet tyre company's that are cheaper than that.
Timwildman
I think the toyo's are good but they dont seem to last long, about 6000miles of my driving. just trying some f1's they seem as good, will have to see how they wear out.
Spyda
What size did you get the GSD3s in, I'm after 265/35-18 I think I'm going to go for the Goodyears again, certainly not the pirellis as I've heard bad reports about them. Although the T1Rs sound good and are only 5 quid more per tyre the goodyears are better all round I think. Adam.
JustGav
Ah... these were 255/35/17s
Spyda
Went for GSD3s again. All round as the fronts were getting a bit low too. Adam.
Wipeout
That price was for stock size. What size did you get the GSD3s in, I'm after 265/35-18 I think I'm going to go for the Goodyears again, certainly not the pirellis as I've heard bad reports about them. foodfreak
if you can track some down... Bridgestone SO2's top everything ... very expensive though 295/35/18's £220 each But you've got to be very hard on the load pedal to unstick them
Chiefgroover
Big SO2 fan myself, if you cant get them try the new RE050, they are a fine tyre. P7000 grips well but the road noise is awful, extremely loud. Price about, I am always amazed at the variety of prices I am quoted for tyres. The Hornet
Hmmm another tyre thread.... Goodyear F1 GSD3's for the wet definately, as not much else can compete. For the dry, I'm not too sure as yet, need dry roads to test some more...
Guest Terry S
Correct me if I am wrong, but arent there varying S02 specs, pole position etc.
The Hornet
Just had a look on Bridgestone's site and they now do a SO3...
Guest Terry S
Again I *think* you will find the S02 is softer than the S03 I have heard good things about Mich Pilot Sports 2 BTW
Syed Shah
Again I *think* you will find the S02 is softer than the S03 Definately are. Finding S02s is hard now though.
Bobbeh
Definately are. Finding S02s is hard now though. Go for the N4 Pirellis, but they're a little more than the Bridgestones.
Syed Shah
Thanks for that, will take a look.
