TrevS
Hi Guys I am close to buying a supra but before I stump up the cash I want to be sure that the car has no dodgey history or outstanding credit against it etc. I checked the car throughly according to the buyers guide on here and everything seems to be in order but I'd like to get a data check carried out on the car for extra reassurance as its a private seller. Can anyone recommend the best website to get a car check carried out on and how much does it cost?
TrevS
I just did a quick search and found an RAC data check for £5. http://www.rac.co.uk/web/vehiclechecks/status_checks/?source=R695&CMP=KNL-google-rac-vsc&HBX_PK=vehicle+check&HBX_OU=01 Has anyone used this one before and is it any good. The AA want £25 for what looks like the same thing Trev
AndyT
Very good price that. I paid 25. There is one to steer well clear of though, think it's called Mycarcheck or similar. Good luck bud.
TrevS
Good news everyone I just got an RAC data check done for £5. But this is the best bit. The check is actually done through http://www.hpicheck.com which normally costs £19.99 So if anyone is thinking of getting a data check done i'd advise using RAC as it will save you a good bit of money Trev

SupraAyf
Guys, How long do these checks take before you receive the results?
merckx
If it's done using the RAC wesite directly then: "The report is delivered on screen to you immediately after you purchase it. You will also get an email with a pdf version of the results attached. You should save this email for future reference as you will require the reference number to update your check". https://www.raccheck.com/consumer/RACgeneralFAQ.do
SupraAyf
If it's done using the RAC wesite directly then: Thanks mate;) As a final question but will the RAC also provide you with the VIN number that's associated with the car VRN you input.
