gavin.starr
whilst taking sharp turns at low speeds, doing a 3 point turn for example there is quite a harsh grumble comes from the rear axle area that pretty much resinates through the whole car like a harsh grumble/vibration, im just wondering if any one else has this problem or if any one knows what it may be and what i need to do to fix it. tt jspec i cant think of a better way to explain it than that really. thanks in advance and happy new year to everone too. gavin
steb9780
Has it only just started doing this, or has it always done it. I get a whining at low speed sometimes, and if turning at low speeds i.e 2mph. I think aftermarket diffs can causes behaviour like this. Chris Wilson
It may have an aftermarket plate type LSD in it. You need to drop the diff out an have a look inside. If it's a Cusco or Kaaz or similar cheap plate type they are noisy and harsh. There are oil additives that help, Chevrolet (GM) and Chrysler offer these. You need to know what diff you have first. The only sure way to tell is to open the casing.
