Tom
I got the combined TRL unit and would like to know which wire goes to where etc, I have the dash apart at the moment and have removed the previous unit and all the wires that needed to be cut had been allready but I was a little confused on the TRL instructions where it has the table which says white to 3 different locations? I know I'm being really dumb but I just want to make sure I get it right! Also the previous unit the wires are screwed into the back of the speedo but it looks like you just put wire to wire on this one? is that right? Thanks Tom. Jake
Hi Tom White wire connects to 3 locations, that's right. One to the Speedo, one to the odometer (mileometer) and one to the Cruise Control (If you have it) Seems easy enough or am I misunderstanding you? Tom
Just the fact that there's only one white wire? do I need to make up new wire to this?
JustGav
I would just say extend the wire... Just had my dash off and spot the TRL unit as well.... cute little units... *grin* Gav

Tom
Ok, forget the blue/red wire thats for the green,(the previous converter had a yellow wire going to it), I'm just stuck on the red positive, can you pull out the existing one out of the plastic casing so that I can fit both in wire's in there? Thanks
geoffvalenti
Hi Tom I took the positive feed by stripping back some of the insulation from the wire going to the ECU and wrapping the DSC wire around the bared cable and soldering it. Make sure you put plenty of insulating tape on it afterwards.
Tom
Thanks Geoff, that sound's like and idea!
dangerous brain
The instructions show you two or three places that you can take your positive and negative feeds from. They can be taken from the power input into the speedo unit itself, the odometer unit, and the ECU which one you choose will depend on whereabouts you intend on locating the box itself. The table is there also to enable you to do a number of different things ie keep the odo in Km's and just convert the speedo etc etc which can read a bit confusing. (In answer yes you will need to expand the white wire into the three yourself if you are converting your odo to miles)
Tom
Thanks, It's all done and completed and working great! I'm predicting it's about 5mph out so I'll have to adjust that soon.
Tom
So how do you adjust the unit?
dangerous brain
Theres a dial inside it you use a watch makers screwdriver. One direction make sit go up the other down simple.
Tom
Great, I had seen that and thought that was it, but I didn't want to break it just in case it wasn't!
