Hypothetical question about copying DVDs.

A friend of mine has a film on DVD. Let's, for arguments sake, call it Me is Leg End.

As it's already a dodgy copy would it be possible just to copy this disc to another without any fancy ripping software etc etc.

There is a folder called audio_ts that appears empty and video_ts which has a bunch of files in it.

He would be very grateful for any help as he has never done anything like this before. In fact, if he had the technology to do this he'd also have a computer with which he could have asked for help himself.

I'm too good to my friend.

My friend found that when he was copying original DVD's using DVD decrypter, DVD shrink then nero that they would only play in a normal DVD player if you removed the empty audio file. Having said that, if the disk you've got plays ok then a direct copy should too.

if i needed to make a backup copy of the original disc i already have theres a progarm called DVDshrink, its ace, you put the original in and it does it all for you. it even ejects the tray when you need to put a blank in, and its free

Yep is good.. Also DVDFab is excellent. So I've heard...:D

PS Nice link Greg.
