tomgeer
I am thinking of keeping my celica as a run around if I can get insurance for a decent price, what I need to know is can you use your no claims bonus on two different policies using different insurance companies? I have used my no claims insuring the supra but if I can use them on another policy then I will be able to keep my celica:). I was also wondering if sky insurance do a deal where you can insure two vehicles on the one policy, has anyone done that?

Pixelfill
IF an insurance company offers you a "mirrored" no claims, what tends to actually happen is that you get a mirrored discount for the 2nd policy based on your existing no claims, and accrue a separate no claims on the 2nd policy. You will not usually be given a full no claims discount on your 2nd policy with any insurer, because you would then be able to switch your 2nd policy to another insurer the following year. And Insurers don't like that Mike
hogmaw
Good reply Mike, I have been seeking reasoning like that on this issue for a while now
Safely Insured
I was also wondering if sky insurance do a deal where you can insure two vehicles on the one policy, has anyone done that? We'd certainly be able to offer you a significant discount for insuring a second car with us Ollie Sky Insurance

To be fair I can only ever drive one car at once so for my liking its irrelevant the no claims on the second car because I think no-claims is just a proof of not claiming and should be applied to any policy. AFAIK if I lose the no claims on one policy that loss will also be legally applied to the other one.

Surely that's unfair. *RANT OFF* Mike Edit to add: I do get a discount on my second car based on my first policies no claims bonus, so I guess I'm not losing out, but the whole "it applies one way but not the other" really annoys me.
