Jspec Germany
I would've taken it one step further. I would have asked the bank in a sincere way for the owners' details and returned it myself in person. If I were the person who picked up the bag, I'd then lie (again) and claim to be a good person by saying I made a, dare I used this word, honest, mistake. I would then think about what I did, and how my actions effected someone else. As mentioned above, there are a lot of $h!tty people in this world and not enough good honest people. You should pat your friend on the back, buy him a beer, and tell him you appreciate him more for doing the right thing. Honesty, humility, integrity, and knowing right from wrong are very important qualities to the human race. It's what seperates us from the animals. hogmaw
Your mate did the right thing. It took some courage to do the right thing and take it back. I hope he feels better now, and has learned a lesson!!!
carl0s
and for future reference, the workers at the bank are more than likely to be good people with morals, like most of the people posting here, so your concern that they would just "take it for them selfs" should be considered probably-wrong. I know someone who worked on the tills in natwest who claims she stole £5k from them over a few years during the course of her employment. Jspec Germany
Good points James, but......... I was more after the message than what I'd really do. 1.) The bank could've arranged a meeting back at the bank for said mate and owner. 2.) The above would be possible if someone had come back looking for the bag and left a name/number. keancy
Only just read this. Seems blackies mate did the right thing in the end, but wtf are people pointing the finger at blackie for the posting. Christ man, anyone of you giving him a hard time sit back and go over your lives and then hold your hands up if you have never ever done something morally wrong. Bet not one of us can.
