RedM
It looks like I won't be able to afford much more than a really average diesel with 80-100k on the clock if I sell my Supra at the highest end of the current selling prices. Seeing as this is to be a replacement for the Supra rather than a old banger to hack around in we'd rather like to get something that we can live with for a few years. Bang goes the 'sport' versions/luxo versions of the cars we'd like. To quote the old dear off The Catherine Tate Show, "what a load of old sh!t". Pabs
I agree it's a bit pants for current Supra owners - but it's pretty good for people like me who will be buying one in the not-too-distant future

Pabs
thanks mate. But on the price note - I'm having the same problem with my current car (SEAT Leon Cupra) - it's a 52plate and current value now is around 1/4 of the new price! Depreciating like mad, which obviously holds back my Supra purchase while I save yet more money.
RedM
How much are you asking for the 'Tommy'?
Pabs
Not quite sure why you called it the 'Tommy', probably missing something there, but I was hoping for 6.5k. However, being told now that it's probably not worth 5k. Stopped advertising etc now and going to keep it for a bit longer so I can sort out my finances, get my redundancy package and start my new job. michael
If it's any consolation I had lots of interest in the red NA when I sold it, everyone seemed really keen to buy a red one and some wanted to travel miles to see it, the colour could help bump values a little. I've just settled into the idea that mine is pretty much worthless to anyone else but me now but that there are people out there who might appreciate it for what it is. Chris Wilson
Recession is on the horizon (My New Years resolution was NOT to be less pessimistic by the way....) House prices are falling, too, time to pull in your horns and ride it out.
n boost
It sucks really. My mate has a R34 gtr and he is in the same boat as prices on both supras and skyline have dropped and seem to be dropping as time goes on. Last summer i was offered £13k for my supe but did not want to sell then (stupid me) and when i did put it up for £10.5k no response and no sale! Havard
Yep, prices certainly suck at the moment!! When i paid 5k for mine I thought I had got the bargain of the century..... We are only 10 months further on and the arse has dropped out of the market!! H.

Havard
not many of them are gonna go up in price;) Mine nearly went up in smoke as my mum had a cig at the end of our drive.............10 feet from a leaking fuel pipe on the Supe....... That's the only way they are going to go up as I see it! H.
Pete
It's no worse than if you'd bought a car new out of the showroom. In fact, I consider myself far better off than not having spent my money on a Focus or similar.

In fact, I consider myself far better off than not having spent my money on a Focus or similar. Very true! I bought a Primera when I was 22. £15K brand new, picked it up at 11 months old 10k miles for £10k. Had it 3 years and sold it for £3k to a dealer as I couldn't sell it privately....... The dealer then flogged it to someone for £4600.....WTF? My depreciation worked out at £194 a month..... On top of the £145 a month on a 4k loan I'd taken out for it!! H. RedM
Not quite sure why you called it the 'Tommy', Tommy Cooper -> Tommy Cupra -> Tommy It's Cockernee rhyming slang, boy.

I still gladly handed over 12k for my 1995 supra two months ago. Surely it depends on the mods and how much has been spent on the car to make it look good, and go faster.
