jevansio
Xmas & New Year felt like any other day this year. Is this something that happens as you approach mid 30's? Most things I want during the year I just buy, so there's no big wait for things on Xmas day as I've bought them during the year. New Year, don't really go out clubbing any more so it's been like another other night when I get lathered. My Gran said this year she doesn't want any Xmas presents, I guess after 80 years it really starts to get on your nerves I am I just a big bore? AndrewOW
Gem and I stayed in and played Lego Star Wars on the Wii through midnight. We've only just turned it off. Did we miss something?

Syed Shah
feel exactly the same Ditto. I buy what I want, when I want generally; so there is no fun/excitement in waiting for Xmas/New Year any more. I'm sure if we all had more self-control and saved the toys for Xmas, it would regain the excitement. But I'm far too impatient for that! Havard
I have enjoyed it for the kids sake but it's all a lot of fuss over nothing at the end of the day!! I seem to eat too much and get pissed most nights over the festive period. Come Wednesday I'll be back to normal..............eating too much and getting pissed again.. H. Muffleman
Got to agree really, and if I never eat another chocolate or christmas pud again it will be too soon ! Christmas this year coincided with the chocolate time of the month here

CJ
I don't think it coincided with me getting older but more the fact that my sons got older. For me, especially living alone, it feels like just another day.
Kieran
Xmas & New Year felt like any other day this year. Is this something that happens as you approach mid 30's? I feel the same and I'm only 24! Ditto. I buy what I want, when I want generally; so there is no fun/excitement in waiting for Xmas/New Year any more. And I think that's the reason. I was in Manchester the other day and everyone was going mental in the sales and clearing all the shops out, but I couldn't find anything that I wanted or needed 'cos I'd already got it. RICHARDA
The wife was at work, the party I was going to got cancelled so I stayed in and watched series one of the muppet show on DVD with the cat. I'm 35, it does'nt get much better than that. Oh Happy new Year.
Branners
I think its what you make of it really. New Year means nothing to my children so its not something we bother with, but they love the concept of Christmas. We had advent calendars with bits of lego each day adding up to a full toy by Christmas, we went out and bought new tree decorations, they helped put up all the other decorations and generally got very excited about things. We also went out ice skating and basically went out places to see different things. So its been one of the best Christmas periods ever for me and my family. Paul
I do think if you've got kids then they make it special. I haven't and when you see and hear other 'adults' worrying about what to buy each other and then moanng about what they got given themselves it makes you sick, such a selfish and silly time of year. Me and my close family agreed about 10yrs ago to knock the present thing on the head (I'm 41 btw), as said anything I want throughout the year I spend ages looking into and then make the decision and buy, that way you get what you want. The partying thing does fade also, it's just another day as far as I'm concerned and the fact it's Christmas or New Year ain't going to make it brilliant, great nights out just happen. Thorin
I like Christmas. I get to buy Angela cool presents that really I'd quite like too German Christmas market in Leeds rocks too, great to get you in the festive spirit. I think I'm gonna ask for one of those Lego Advent calendars next year too, they sound cool!
Pete
Having spent the three previous nights in Rome and walked for bloody miles and miles around the city we had an early night and missed it all. Vicki met a new fella there too. Said he was more butch than I.
Chris Wilson
I see she's having her new apartment remodelled in the background, too Make the most of it, if that was Blighty the fellow with a sword would have been arrested by 150 armed officers in a terrorist clampdown. AndrewOW
I think I'm gonna ask for one of those Lego Advent calendars next year too, they sound cool! Definitely. Lego was my favourite toy when I was young! I still haven't opened all of the days on my advent calendar for this Christmas yet! Lots of chocolate to have there then. I must say though, that Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga is just fantastic.
Thorin
I must say though, that Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga is just fantastic. That will have to be a purchase in the near future I think
keancy
Christmas was nice only because I spent it with my favourite people. Other then that I guess once the kids leave home I will literally have to force myself to dig out the Decorations. As for New Years, yeah your right just another night out getting pi**ed. (But again spent with my favourite people so ok)

Spot on chap, especially the bit about buying exactly what you want throughout the year. Although this year I got a hot air balloon ride from my g/f, which I'm really chuffed about: I've always wanted to go in one.
