Theives using car forums

Figured I'd put this in here the word is the thieving f*****s have been using various car websites to find out were and when certain cars are.

Skyline got pinched last night from outside the house, wasn't even late at night, f*****s took it just before 9pm. GT was sitting pretty much beside it too, though the steering lock was not on (he hadn't bothered as he was heading out shortly again and as it was relatively early).

Took off after them and seen them at a petrol station up the road a bit, tried to block them in but they where already moving so got away again, luckily enough though the attendant didn't unlock the pump for them so they didn't get any petrol. Gave chase again, kept loosing them but noise is so distinctive you can here the general direction, and with coordinating with police the car ran out of petrol and they legged it. Waiting to get it back still as they want it for forensics etc, by the sounds of it and here's hoping there's not going to be too much damage done.

Quite a spate of it going on here at the minute, think that's 4 or 5 stolen or attempted stolen skylines etc in the past week or 2. Word is after they abandoned his skyline similar folks were seen in a stolen 911.

Just like to say keep an eye on who is coming on here and be care full of the questions asked to you.

Be safe guys girls dont leave your car as an easy target or tell people were and when your car is alone etc.

If someone shows interest in your car, never give your home adres. If you want to sell, you better make an appointment in a public area parking or so. (But not saying it went like this for you Dann)

I hope your Skyline is still OK!

Would you meet some bloke in a carpark to buy a car? I've often wondered the best thing to do - sold quite a lot of cars and a few times a car has pulled up and 2-3 blokes get out and makes you stop and think. Never had a problem though, always been genuine people and being 6 foot 4 with a GSD and dobie helps.

Really makes me sick though, you work hard and stretch yourself to buy a nice motor and some useless low-life thinks I'd like that so takes it. So what if the police catch them, they rarely get sent down and if they do they learn how to steal more cars.

That's why u need a good alarm with anti-jack facility like with clifford. my mates evo had one and was stolen as they broke into house and took keys. When police arrived they asked him if it was purple and he said yes how do u know...They replied it was down the road with the alarm blasting as a code needs to be entered on alarm.

Thats really bad good thing they didnt burn it out or send it on a boat to russia.

One thing to note is I would never buy a car where I got to see it in a public place, I like to know where its been kept and how its been kept.

Another way is to put a piece of paper on the rear windscreen. When the driver starts the car they see the paper and get out. The thieves then jump in and take your car!!

Works every time apparently.....:D

Made me smile recently as that very hoax has now been stuck up in our local post office depot alongside the other ones about people ringing you up and asking you to press hash 9 or something and you then get charged £282567 per minute.
