Dont really know why this keeps cropping up in my mind but keep wondering about all those miles under the sea where man hasnt gone yet, wonder what kind of 'things' lurk there? thing i keep thinking of are sharks, old giant ones! in japan they recently found one of these alive which came to the top:taped:

Etc, plenty down there waiting to be found no doubt, shame they will probably drag them back up to the surface to study when dead rather than just leaving them to it.

There were sharks around in prehistoric times called Megaladon which would be as large as that photoshop. 60ft plus.

It is possible that something that large lives down deep, they have only recently managed to track down the giant squid. Im sure they can find many other things lurking down there but theres no money to be made out of sea exploration that deep so until they can mine for oil at those depths nobody is going down there.

I read an article about sharks recently and how modern day sharks are small compared to some of the monsters that have existed in the past. There was one tale from the 1930's about a ship that encountered a "giant" shark - the crew said it was "the length of our fishing rig" which was 35 metres long

I like conspiracy theories :D

surely the pressure would be too much for anything apart from bacteria that deep

Anything down there would be 'pressurised' to cope with the environment, like we are - if there's too much pressure we flatten and if there's not enough we pop.

I always wanted an angler fish for a pet when I was little after seeing one on TV, but wth the pressure where they live being something like 400x what it is on the surface, it would've burst before I got it anywhere near a tank. :(

:D

Fascinating - nothing wrong with a bit of an enquiring mind I say.

Tell you what I do a lot of snorkelling and reef exploration and there is a lot of wierd shit on the top, let alone down deep.

The World sure is a great place -without people to spoil it:d

I read that book years ago after my dad gave it to me, from memory it attacked a submarine or something, it just makes you wonder if there is anything that big down there.
