Thorin
I suspect it's a codec issue, most likely a x264 encoded video. Try ffdshow http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=173941&package_id=199421
JustGav
Being an HD dl, it will either be a .mkv or .avi Perhaps try rename it (Or do you not have 'show file extensions' on in XP) If it is x264, then I'd recommend the coreavc codec http://www.coreavc.com (I believe the kazaa mega pack does have a 'non paid' for version inside)

Thorin
The CoreAVC codec is very good, but FFDShow should play it back fine as long as you've got a decent processor (my old 3.0 prescott P4 will play back 720p content with ease). I believe there were some early beta versions knocking around that were free, personally I'd avoid these codec "mega packs" though. I prefer to know what I'm installing and only install what is needed. FFDShow will cover most things on its own.
