Pixelfill
There has always been a "friendly" rivalry between Lancashire and Yorkshire folks. It hails back to the wars of the Roses. I don't think it's as prolific as it once was though. Mike (A Yorkshire man residing in Lancashire)

juanchan
People outside of Yorkshire speak really funny... I'm sure we deduced a while back that being from Baaaaarnsley is a setback not a flirting highlight im from leeds but live in sussex - do I have to fight myself? I'm from Chester (vaguely northern) and live down south. My northern mates think I sound like a southern fairy and my southern mates all think I speak northern Can't please everyone! jamesmark
I'm sure we deduced a while back that being from Baaaaarnsley is a setback not a flirting highlight Now that was funny. I must admit the Baaaarnsley accent is a bit wierd, if not a bit backwards sounding. It is awful when you hear the accent and you cannot tell if it is a man or a women without looking at them, even then it is a tall order. Ah up thank goodness our Luke aint like that, he's a cocker. I think thats how it goes.

flukey-lukey
I'm sure we deduced a while back that being from Baaaaarnsley is a setback not a flirting highlight Thats somthing that annoys me... people who are not from Barnsley pronounce it Baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarnsley and when they do pronounce it like that, they make themselves look like idiots Now that was funny. Matt H
real hard core Lancashire dialect is bit annoying as the speakers of which tend to miss out loads of words and replace them with annoying grunts. "goin ut shop love. Wunt oot" "nay love, dont be lung, got ut tea on ut goooooooo" "be rite love"

They have good humour and like a good laugh. Funny thing was I went on a night out over the boarder in Carlise and was called a cockney ......... Now I have never lived in London and sound nothing like a cockney (spending 20 years in the Midlands) but thats Carlise for you.
