Syed Shah
Hi Everyone, Has anybody on here had a full retrim done? I am planning this for my Soarer for next winter, and am trying to get an idea of costs. It has a rather drab greg/spruce interior at the moment. I would like to wrap everything (dash, headlining, wheel etc ala TVR) in some nice black leather, say Nappa or Connelly (yes I know they stopped trading in '02). How much is this liely to cost me? Anyone come recommended? It would be nice for them to have some electrical skills, as part of the retrim would be building speakers in to the doors, a Carputer in the dash and a few other bits. Cheers P.S. Xmas and Year News wishes to all!

Syed Shah
Mmm - taken a look at some the Gibson's work. very nice. Has given me a few ideas, so will have the spring/summer to save for it all (as long as nothing breaks in the meantime lol).
AndyT
Expensive but the quality is better than factory imo.
SILKYSMOOTH
I would say anywhere between £1200-£1700.
p111ddy
I would say anywhere between £1200-£1700. Is that it? For a full interior retrim
Kopite
On a supra that was on the TOC, think it was about £6k for the lot

SILKYSMOOTH
Sorry, I was estimating for a Supra. The Soarer is bigger and for all the other bits you want done, I would say upto £3000 for top quality leather and a top quality job.

Hi my supra has had a retrim by gibson's it's brilliant quality and I would recommend it to anyone. I bought the car with it already done but if I remember correctly the previous owner Lewis paid about £2500 I think.

Syed Shah
Hi Tom, What did the 2.5k cover? I am thinking around the 4k mark for what I want done. I may pop over to Gibson's for a chat in the New Year - see how much I need to save for winter!
SILKYSMOOTH
My brother-in-law is a car trimmer/upholsterer and one of the best...he has been doing it for over 25 years, I was also invloved for quite some time, specialising mainly in BMW's. However we have done Ferrari's, Lamborghini's, Classics and even had a contract with an import dealer about 8-9 years ago for Supra's and we did quite a few. If there is enough demand for new interiors, I will try to persuade him to start making interiors for the Supra again. But first I will be getting him (with my help) to do mine 1st. I used to do all the electric bits too and the ICE modifications

Hi, the re-trim included the door cards and front and rear seats, it was trimmed in black and light grey so didn't need anything else doing such as steering wheels and gear gaitors etc. I think the 2.5k price may have included some sort of discount though, also it might have cost 2.8k not 2.5k, I can't remember what he said now, If you PM Lewis i'm sure he will be able to tell you more about it. Definately see Gibsons though, I can't see a stitch wrong in my car, perfectly done
Syed Shah
Cheers Tom! Silky - having a retrimmer for a brother - alright for some! If I see your car in the summer, I expect it to have the best interior around ;-)
Tee from China
Are you wanting FULL as in headlining, dash, door cards etc and just leather or combination? single or duo colour? plain or patterned? all makes a difference but bank on at least 4K upwards! Gibson's do some amazing work as does superdibbs and Prestige and others check out some websites and get quotes.
Syed Shah
The whole lot, headlining etc. All just one color tho - yes 4k is what I plan on budgeting for the interior work. Has supradibbs/Prestige got a website? The stuff on Gibson's looking amazing IMO, would be nice to compare. Cheers
Tee from China
Hi Syed, I got one name wrong Prestige don't do re-trims just carpets and hoods and it is Precision that do trimming. Also Martrim as well.Tried supradibbs site(CustomAutoWorx) but couldn't get it - could be as i'm in China or there is a problem with his server/site! here's the links for you: http://www.customautoworx.com/ http://www.martrim.co.uk/ http://www.precisiontrimming.co.uk/

Tee from China
No problems but don't forget to post the pictures after the re-trim so we can all see the results of your chosen trimmer!

If I see your car in the summer, I expect it to have the best interior around ;-) If I still have the car in the summer, there should be a full leather retrim fitted, just have not got round to doing it yet. I guess that's why I can get it done a little cheaper.
