xeno
I have a J-spec 1993 RZ TwinTurbo and am doing a CAM belt change soon. I was going to pick up a water pump too, but I'm not sure what one. Can anyone post a pic of the water pump that will fit my model of Supra? I've seen a few that claim to fit my car, but they are all different. Here's a few pics of the ones I found, they can't all be right.
SUPRASUZUKI
The 2nd and 4th pic look correct (you can see the cam belt tensioner is in the 2nd pic). If you need a tool to hold the crank pulley let me know.
xeno
Great that comfirms what I thought. So as far as I can find out I'm going to need a tool to lock the cams off, and some kind of puller. Is that correct, and is there anything else I'll need? A friend of mine who is a mechanic is going to do the work, with me helping/watching. So long as I get all the parts and tools we'll need. So far I have a timing belt, tensioner and idler kit. Water pump still to get and fluids etc. SUPRASUZUKI. Do you have the Cam locking tool/s? If so any chance of a rental? Many thanks for the info. Ric
you dont need to lock the cams, you lock the crank pulley its self which will allow you to take the timing belt off and the covers to allow you access to the pump from there its plain sailing

dani_r
you dont need to lock the cams, you lock the crank pulley its self which will allow you to take the timing belt off and the covers to allow you access to the pump from there its plain sailing Any more info on this tool to lock the crank pulley? Will this tool lock everything to allow a complete change of the tensioners and all the pulleys etc without causing damage?
Jamesy W
I've recently bought one off a member as I needed my timing belt and cam gears changed, the thing worked an absolute treat. It's a heavy bugger though. Do you need a loan of one like?
dani_r
I think i will do yeah, I've got a possible little TT project on the go at the moment and it needs some bits and bobs doing, including the aforementioned belts etc. Would I be able to borrow yours when the time comes? How does it work? Edited March 2, 2009 by dani_r (see edit history)
Jamesy W
That shouldn't be a problem mate, but by the time you cover postage to and from, you would be cheaper going for a single lol. No idea how it works mate, but therre is a thread on here somewhere.
