So many dog rough Supras were shipped here from Japan, AND Supras got all the chav stuff thrown at them, any wonder their values are weak. When is the last time you saw a chavved NSX?

Does make me think, if there never had been imports, what would UK Supras be worth now?

I THINK THEY ONLY MADE 26 A YEAR AND AT THE TIME THEY WOULD OUT HANDLE MOST PRODUCTION CARS. VERY BALANCED AND A BRILLIANT TRACK CAR. I REMEMBER COS IM OLD ENOUGH. :eyebrows:

OK someone tell me why they are so great?

Compaired to a TT supra? Whats it got over the supra that demands 30k?

Not that i was thinking of buying one...............

THE REASON THEY ARE SO GREAT IS THAT THEY HAD A LIGHTWEIGHT GEAR STICK GATOR MADE FROM TITANIUM MESH. IT IMPROVED HANDLING MASSIVELY.:D:eyebrows:

You have to drive one to know, they may have a deficit of power over the TT Supra, but the handling is in a different league. Sadly most are bought by people who buy on the looks and never find out just how capable they are. I was very lucky and had a few laps of Donington at the wheel of a stock one, and boy, are they a pleasure to drive, on or off track. Parts are massively expensive though, and lots of bits aren't even in the UK.

before i bought my supra i started to save for an NSX. they have come down in price the last few years. had an auto on pistonheads for like £12k. then again it was a 3.0 auto lol. i love the NSX, when i picked up my supra interior from a garage, the mechanics had a modified one up on the ramps with a turbo kit in boosting 600bhp!!! looked absoulutly stunning. can get a 3.0 manual for around 15k now if u look hard enough :)

Bump after a year,

Still these things demand huge prices, for less BHP than my TT.

The reason why was pointed out in the beginning of the thread - it's all about supply and demand.

When I bought my first TT Supra (10 or 11 years ago) there were far fewer about. I was very lucky, and got a good one for £20k but that was below the minimum at the time - prices started at about £23k and went up from there.

TTs are not worse now - but there are far too many Supras about - NA and TT. I can't remember the last time I saw an NSX. I saw another supra yesterday.

I've always liked the NSX. Prefer the original shape, pre-facelift.

Shame about the interior, but I'd love to own one. With a nod to CW, I'd never test the chassis to any great extent, but I'd still appreciate the ownership. I have thought about a black one, but prices are still very high....another few £k and we are into AM V8 Vantage territory. No brainer as far as realistic replacement of the Supra for me.

When I owned a Supra TT, I didn't understand the appeal of an NSX as they are a lot less powerful than my Supra was.

I'm now on my second Elise since selling the Supra and have realised I'm a lot more bothered about having a light, good handling car than a powerful car. Not to take anything away from the Supra, which I had for 5 years, and absolutely loved.

I plan on buying an NSX as my next car though.

I have a couple of mates here with them and they both go to Fuji Speedway. Fantastic cars, handling is superb.

One bought his car here and is lightly tuned, the other had his supercharged in the US and shipped it over when he came to work here. That goes very well.:)

I can not understand why people keep on saying they are expensive to own. We have looked into getting one as a second car, and have spoken too two Honda main dealers reference servicing costs.

As most of the parts are universal, ie filters and oil to other cars in the range, the service costs are not much more than an Accord!

As for breakdowns, they are as reliable as most other Hondas if maintained properly. They only become expensive when you crash them, but what cars aren't?

Due to finance problems were having to put a lot of plans on hold, but I do still hope to purchase one someday.
